I recently had a meet in xcel gold and I scored my lowest AA score In my life! I think it was close to a 35.00. Anyway I was wondering what AA score you needed to go to state. and if the AA Score that gets you into state can only be reached at the first meet or throughout the season? Thanks!
I have a fairly important meet coming up (xcel silver) and want to spice up my bar routine and do a different dismout. Currentley i have a back hip circle underswing, so any suggestions?
My daughter goes to a noncompetitive gym. Her coach has talked about her possibly competing at Xcel level. I used to coach gymnastics years ago, so much has changed. What would be the steps for a new gym to start competing Xcel? Thanks.
My 7 year old daughter is competing bronze this year. She is doing very well so far but it's very early in the season. Competitions do not start until November. My daughter is hoping that after this year she will move to silver. She has some higher skills than bronze already but they are still...
What are the pros and cons of xcel? I read through some posts here but have some specific questions.... Can you go back to JO once your in xcel? Could I start in silver/gold/plat or would I have to start as a bronze? For YMCA.... Are there a lot of girls who do it? Can xcel go to YMCA regionals...
Just looking into maybe doing competitions. Do the gymnasts have to start at Bronze? My daughter has only been in gymnastics for less than a year, but had several years of ballet. She can do double backhandspring on floor and working on tuck, on beam she can do backwalkover, can complete a...
Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted, but I'm still coaching and loving it.
My gym has decided to make the switch from JO to Xcel, and I think I've got all those changes down.
We're looking at getting new competition leotards, and at my gym we do it a little differently to try...
I recently ran across a policy just adopted by Region 6 which is relevant to our earlier discussions of the intent of XCel and the ethics of cross-stream competition:
XCEL REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS ELIGIBILITY
In the spirit of good sportsmanship, fairness to all athletes and competitive balance...
Okay guys please bear with me as I know this issue has been discussed ad nauseam, but I'd love your take on our situation now. And I will apologize up front for being so verbose, but I feel like the more information you have, the better you can comment.
I'm the aunt, but in our family...
Hi! I am currently deciding which gym I would like to train at. One would put me into the JO track while the other would put me on the Xcel track. I am currently 15. What is the difference between Xcel and JO cost wise? Could you also break down the total cost into categories? :) Also (doesn't...
For those of you with daughters in the Xcel program - how many hours a week does your daughter have team practice? Also, what is your competition schedule like?
What is the "normal" age for someone to compete silver/gold/platinum at you gym? We started a bronze team, and most of the girls are 6/7/8. We don't have higher levels (yet), and since I'm being moved to xcel, I was wondering what to expect. :)
Our coach was looking into xcel. She thought we could switch from Jo to xcel to fast track and then come back out on level 8. Then she was told you have to compete both? JO for that season and xcel for optional season. Is this right? Can anyone help me understand the difference between the two...
The more I read, the more I wonder about our gym. They seem to have super crazy requirements for our xcel team. My DD's are both repeating levels - YDD will be a 2nd year bronze, ODD will be a 2nd year silver. There is a small chance ODD will move to gold, but I doubt it b/c they always have the...
So today we did a new conditioning circuit with levels 6-10 & Xcel Platinum. (I'm xcel if anyone is wondering) It was very tiring, but a very creative idea that anyone can take and put their own spin on. You will need a deck of cards.
So each suit represents a move.
