I have recently just gotten my cast handstand but every time i come down from it, I'm all archy and I usually peel off into the pit. Are there any tips or drills or advice for coming down in the correct position?
My DD competed last season as a 11 yr old Level 8, her bar routine had the basic 2 backward giants into dismount which seemed very strong. During the off season we were expecting to see a progression into maybe a blind change into front giant, or maybe a 1/2 pirouette on HB, etc. However, she...
When training a giant on p-bars, what are the important points to emphasize? Am I correct in assuming the tap is essentially the same as the tap for a high bar giant (ie hollow, arch, hollow)?
Right now I have several of my boys training the flyaway in between the bars; what should I emphasize...
Ack... I've recently gotten my giants on the real bar with out a spot, so my coach told me to try a layout flyaway. At first it was just fine, then when I had another coach spot me on my flyaway, I let go too late and my shins smacked the bar. It felt just fine to me, so I'm confused, and...
My dd is having issues getting her giants to go over. She casts super high, but then gets about halfway through the tap (to where she's seeing her toes) and then can't get the feet over. Does that make sense? She's been told it is her tap. On strap bar (I know, totally different) they are great...
I am a level 7 gymnast and I need to learn how to do giants on double rail for competition season which starts in December. I always feel like I am gonna hit the low bar whenever I try them on double bars, so I pike to miss the low bar, but then it's almost impossible for me to make it over...

Is there any difference at all between a long hang pullover vs. 3/4 Giant?
I sometimes hear the L5 are working on LHP.....they tend to show a bit of a slowdown between the pullover and undershoot whereas the L6-7 do it very fast and with a lot of strength....
It there a technical difference...
Hi everyone!
I have massive issues with bars. Two skills in particular: Giants and Clearhip to Handstand on metal bar.
I used to be able to do giants, but now I cant get over! My coach told me to try bending my legs at the back and now I have a really bad hapit of doing that and when my legs are...
What are the progressions you use in teaching giants? I mean from the very beginning of shape change (on and off the bar) onwards. I am thinking mainly for girls as the technique seems to be different to boys because they don't have to worry about the low bar - correct me if i'm wrong.
Any...
Hi everyone!
okay so, I was hoping to work giants later in the summer. I was wondering what are some drills are that i could do at home? i don't have a cast handstand yet either, so some drills for that would be great too! thanks ahead of time!
I keep slipping wen i go to shift for front giants! i can do great ones on strap bar but since we are learning them on the high bar right away im having some difficulty! what do i do to help me shift so that i have a good grip on the bar??
Hi,
Okay so I am terrified of giants. last summer i peeled doing on and had 2 go to the emergency room and everything... luckily nothing to bad happened except for a ligament tear in my back. i have to have them to go level 7 which i really really want to but i dont know if i can get them...
I am having a lot of trouble with getting my giants. I have done a couple of them but I can't seam to get them consistent or even over any more right now. Does anyone have any suggestions or little tricks that I could try??
DD called so very happy from gym today. She finally got her giant and is going to get to compete it in two weeks. Don't know why I am posting this except if I called my friends who don't understand gymnastics, they would give me a "oh that's nice". I really need a big yippppiiiiiiiii!
One of my L6 boys just learned his giants, which he can do for bonus in his routine. However, we're running into issues in plugging them in. When he plugs the giants into his routine (two giants followed by a baby giant and an undershoot), what ends up happenning is that after the two giants...
