WAG In between sessions at P&G's?

I will be going up to PA for the P&G Championships. I have tickets for the Jr. And Sr. Final day on Saturday. I'm super excited as I've never had the chance to see elites compete before! My question is, the juniors are at 2 I believe and the seniors at 7:30. Are you expected to clear out the...

WAG Same Level and Team, Different Session for State?

My DD is a level 3. Her state meet is coming up and the schedule says the "younger" girls will compete in the morning of competition day and the "older" girls will go in the afternoon. How does this work for team award? Will there be a younger group team champion and an older group team...

    Development Sessions

As you know my youngest dd has just moved out if Rec. I never knew what sort of class that dd is now doing until now. Yesterday I took my oldest dd to her session and I was planning on letting the person who usually works on the front desk about my dd's change in class so the direct debit can...

Parents Brag Alert: Handspring front somi and here's to one of THOSE sessions!

You know those sessions when it looks as though the gymnastics fairy found a minute to sprinkle some dust over your child? Well my dd had one of those :) The most fantastic one was her beautiful front handspring front somis, which she was landing very prettily, chest up and plenty of time, at...

    WAG Practice Sessions

From observing a few gyms practice sessions, I noticed such a wide and diverse range of ways practice sessions are conducted. I am assuming results at meets and/or success are directly related to practice sessions. With both gyms having same total number of practice hours, about 3 hours a day...

Parents Do you take your kids to watch the other sessions?

The schedule for out next meet just came out. Boys will be on Friday, levels 6-10 from 8:30-1 and 4 & 5 in the afternoon. The meet is about 2 hours away. I was considering taking DS an hour or two early to let him watch the older guys on his team in the morning but I'm not sure it that will...

    WAG Awful training session!

Okay, the last few training sessions have been awful for me. The problem with this time of year is that its the time of year where groups switch around and everything is a bit uncertain. A bit of background information: There are 3 different tiers of gymnastics competition - IDP (elite path)...

Has anyone done the adult gymnastics session during week 12 of Woodward?

Has anyone done the adult gymnastics session during week 12 of Woodward? I'm curious how the adults are split into groups and whether they're mixed in or kept separate? Also, how many adults typically? Any other feedback- was it worth it or did you feel out of place? I am probably going to sign...

Parkour during open gym sessions.. OPINIONS?

at my gym, we have open gym (quite fun, i must add ;)) But every time it's open gym, there are there 19-25 year old guys that come and throw CRAZY skills, ones that i can't recognize.. they're too messy! but they try fulls, double backs, and crazy tumbling passes to say the least. - and i'll say...

How long is the average gymnastics meet session?

I'm just wondering how ours compares. At my dd's next meet it will be 4 hours from the time she walks in until the end of awards. It's a traditional format and I always feel like she's mentally done before her last event, if not earlier. Is this a normal session length?

Coaches Fees - paid for a "bye" session

Quick question - how many of you pay your coaches for bye sessions? For example - if I coach level 3's at 8AM, then have nothing at the 12:30 session, but have level 4's at 5PM - would you pay for three sessions, or two? Does it matter if it is a home meet, or away? Any info is appreciated!

    great training session

Yesterday i had the best practice I've had in a long time. I got my squat-on on bars back consistently, my free cartwheel on floor back and I did a spotted flick without bending my arms or legs like I normally do! :D

Covergirl Classics? Session Length? What to expect?

Hi Everyone! Hopefully I have just a simple question for all of you! I've tried to search online, but after little success, I thought I'd ask the brilliant minds here. I was wondering if any of you have ever attended the Covergirl Classics? I got my DD tix for the meet in July, and was trying...

Parents Level 4 and 5 meet reports...back to back sessions! long, of course.

Both DD's competed this weekend. Actually, it was today (seems so long ago now, it all started at 7:30 am!). We went up to "the beach" a day early for the meet and had lovely weather and just generally had a nice day yesterday before we had to go to the meet today. Stocked up on flip flops...

First session back after holiday - improved some skills...!

DD went back last night after finishing on 18 Dec. and came back home very happy! She had a much better session than she thought as she thought she would be very rusty after the long break. Apparently she had been 'working on' balance during the holiday (news to me!) with the help of the...

LONG gymnastics session at a meet

My daughter and her teammates were stuck in a long session at one particular meet. The girls had to be there before 10:30am. At 4:00 in the afternoon it was still going on. The girls were starving. We left as soon as team awards began because daughter just couldn't continue on. She was...

Coaches Just had the best session in a long time!

I've just got home from the best training session in a long time and just wanted to share! We went to another gym's facility to use their pits and it made such a difference! We started on vault where 6/8 of my gymnasts did their handsprings on their own, 4 of them for the first time ever! (the...
