    Beam BHS wrist pain???

My dd is level 6 & starting to learn beam BHS. She's been complaining that it "hurts her wrists(both)" while she's practicing beam & shortly after, but the pain "goes away on it's own" once she's done beam practice. Is this something that will get better as she gets stronger with her BHS or does...

    Wolf Hold on Beam

I have just received a new optionals manual. it reads under mounts. "from squat on or stoop into wolf hold". We have two coaches at our gym and we both have very different ideas of what this should look like. Does anybody have any ideas?? I would appreciate any feedback.

    Handstand Straddle Down ~ Beam

I have a handstand straddle down in my beam routine and I'm having problems... I fall off around 75% of the time and is costing me in meets. I cartwheel into it, and I think that's the main problem since I can't cartwheel into handstand hold very well anymore like I used to. When I just simply...

    Beam - Series Connection

I have a question regarding the series in a Level 8 beam routine. My daughter, who is having trouble with making the connection in her series (which was BHS/BHS) is now being asked to do BT/BHS. Is this an unusual order? Wouldn't even a back handspring/back tuck make more sense? If she was...

    Parents Improvement on the beam

I think that tonight I started to see an improvement in my DD on the beam, her toe tap handstands are starting to get higher, with T-ing in and out, also she fought harder to keep on the beam after her split leap. Why do I think that I am starting to see improve, because I think she is...

    Best home beam?

I have a 7yo DD who just finished level 3 and is working towards level 4, but she really needs to increase her confidence on beam and I wanted to get her one for home. Where is the best place to get one from? Thanks,

    lvl 7 beam

I want to make it to lvl 7 next year so I already have been thinking about possible routines, skills, etc and trying them out. I know the requirements but: 1) Is a scale, reach down into frontwalkover-roundoff a valid arco series? 2) Is a full turn from knee an A or B value skill? Thanks.

    Parents Beam, Vault, Floor shoes?

Hi, at a meet this weekend we saw a team wearing shoes for beam, vault and floor. We've never seen any girls do that before. What is the purpose of wearing them - do they really help the girls grip the floor, beam better? Give better traction for vault and tumbling?

    Beam Skills

I'm a level 7 and on beam, I'm currently doing front walkover-fronthandspring to fulfill both my series and flight requirements. I am technically sound and fully capable of doing them, but I'm so afraid. It looks really good when I actually do it, but I haven't done it on a standard beam...

Moving on from splitting the beam

My dd split the beam back in June doing split leaps and still is unsure of herself doing beam skills. She used to do tons of cartwheels on the high beam for 2 yrs and was the first in her group to do them. Now she looks like an old lady doing a cartwheel  She looks like she's afraid of...

    Teaching myself some beam

I'm trying to learn a back tuck on beam, just so I can say I've done it. Any pointers? And don't worry -- I'm not going to just chuck it on a high beam. Not until I've landed about a million of them on a line and on a low beam.
