On floor, is the dismount classified as the last element performed or the last salto performed?
Just choreographing a new floor routine and this has totally escaped my memory!
It is because at certain levels here it is the last acro element, regardless of whether there is a jump or leap after...
So i was reading about floor routines on the site and it doesn't seem rare for gymnasts to pay upwards of $300 for a floor routine, is this the norm at your gym because here (well in my gym) I have never payed for a routine, music or choreography, and they have all been original (bar my current...
My daughter has selected her floor music and we have had it mixed. In the last 20 seconds it has Gothic type voices overlaid with music. No words just chanting type sounds. Makes me think of something you would hear in the movie 300 or Gladiator. Wondering if anyone could clarify the rule on...
At states my dd did the following floor routine:
Pass 1: Ro, bhs, layout
Pass 2: Front hs, front layout, front tuck
Pass 2: Front hs, front layout
She also did switch leg leap, 1.5 turn etc.
She competed full twist all year, but coach removed it because she was getting an amplitude deduction...
I get new floor music this year, and my coach is letting me pick 3 songs that I really like. From those 3, she will choose which piece I use. I found 2 pretty good songs, but a third one that I fell in love with. It's from the movie Amelie, and is very slow and graceful. ( Link Removed )...
I just heard this and I remembered hearing at a meet and I really liked it but I have no idea what the name of it is.......does anybody know?

Hi,
I am in the process of looking for new floor music for next year and I came across Geralen Stack-Eaton's floor routine from this year. I absolutely love her music, but I know that many college gymnasts, especially from more successful teams, have their music custom made for them. I will...
Okay, so i broke my leg 3 months ago and had my first "meet" back. My coaches told the floor judge that i would be doing some different stuff in my routine (I am a level 6) and no tumbling. My coach told the judge to only score me on the stuff that i do. In my routine i did not do my leap pass...

Level 7 floor question:
How much of a deduction will you get on floor if you only do a front-handspring front-tuck and a back-tuck?
Will the deduction decrease or change if you do a front-handspring front-tuck and two back tucks?
Are there any alternatives to a back-layout that would fulfill...
Little dd had a bit of a mental error on floor and started her routine by doing bounce bounce split jump, split jump instead of straight jump split jump. The first split jump was not as much split as the second one, but definitely not a straight jump - what would you judges do with this?! Just...
Firstly I am not looking to steal music. A few of us ladies decided we want to try ladies division, purely for the fun of it. The first meet is only a month away and it is at our home gym. None of us are super serious and I am semi broke and not wanting to blow $90 on floor music. Does anyone...
My daughter is a level 7 gymnast in a really tough region. Her and her teammates are currently scoring in the high 8's low 9's. However a 9.0 will not place in our competitions. 9.4 and up are the typically placing scores. We only practice our floor routines twice per week. Each girl...
Hey! I was wondering, for next season, if you know any good country songs to have as your floor routine? I'm like an upbeat, power kind of gymnast! Thanks!
I really like this music and I might use it in competition next year...here's the link. What level would it be? Floor Music - Fairytale - YouTube Thanks. And by the way, that IS my comment. =)
