Well as I have posted before the last meet, where Midget did so well, was really a fun meet. Saturday is the first one of the 'real' meets. Unsanctioned, level 3, but still real to us!
She has a 1 PM call time but we are heading up to lovely Paducah, KY tomorrow after school for our traditional...
and we have never had so many meets in one season, LOL! I am going to be exhausted by the end of it .
We have 8 "for sure" meets, and possibly one other if she qualifies for it (trials are in early January) - not counting our in-house meet in December.
We usually only do 5 - I'm...
We are scheduled to do a couple travel meets this year. One is clear up in Boston, a 6-hour drive for us, in January. My ds's birthday is Thurs. January 14th and it looks like Olivia is tetatively scheduled to compete on Friday the 15th. We'll have to leave home, taking her out of school...
Well, we survived our first Level 4 meet! We were in Daytona, which is where my parents live, so it was especially fun for Kylie. Also really sweet, 2 of my mom's best friends (and husbands!) came along to watch her, so she had quite the cheering section!
She was the only one from her gym...
Got that first L5 meet out of the way yesterday. It went well. I think this will be the first year that I am finally able to watch vault and somewhat gauge what a score should be.(never really got the 2,3,4 vaults)
Sam scores were: 8.85 vault
9.250 bars...
This is our annual meet that we always host--The Hoedown. Should be lots of fun--this year we have the most gymnasts coming ever (yeah!). Beth will be there Saturday afternoon after practice helping out and our level 4s compete Saturday evening and our level 5s & 6s compete on Sunday. I'll be...
Hello all! It's been a while, but I feel a need to gloat.
I imagine it's typical for summer training to be somewhat boring, repetitive, disconnected, and still challenging to constantly remind herself how much she loves the sport? We can't be alone. I mean, when iCarly trumps gym, something is...
Hi everyone, trying to get back in the groove of posting here, meet season seems to be in full swing! Dd has her first L4 meet this week-end. It's out of town for us in Daytona Bch, which happens to be where my parents live, so we are very excited (and no need to spend $ on a hotel...yeah)...
We have a meet that requires a flight and stay over this year:eek:. I'm having a hard time justifying this meet for a level 4 girl. I can see when she is a higher level, but so young and so early is it really worth it?
How far will you travel for a meet?
Very hectic weekend, we had a blast in Wildwood. DD entertained everyone in the hotel by doing BHS and stuff poolside against my wishes on the concrete! OUCH! Wondering if all your gymies are the entertainment at out door events, because my DD had an audience on all 5 floors! She spent the...

~*~*~GOOD LUCK~*~*~ to your little girl tomorrow!!! My finger are crossed that all the fairies you need arrive on time, and your daughter has the best meet ever!
Good luck to all the other girls competing this weekend too...Mariposa?? Your daughter is strutting...
Just wondering how many competitions you have in a year?
DD has only 2 or 3, the third one being a qualifier for another one after that, and then that one being a qualifier for state championships.
So minimum 2 or 3, potentially 4 or 5.
I don't know if it's just me, but I always bring my ipod to my gymnastics meets! Every event, right after I warm up, I listen to my ipod. I listen to anything that pumps me up. I usually feel more comfortable after doing this cuz I just feel at center with myself. While I'm listening to music, I...
My DD had her first meet last Sunday bright and early. Following the wonderful advice from these forums I sent her off with a lovely waffle breakfast and sparkles in her hair. She was completely unphased, but I thought I might have a stroke I was so nervous.
Vault - Form is not her forte in...
Our gym is hosting a State Invitational meet this December and we are trying to come up with a theme. Does anyone have any ideas? Kind of looking for something that would be easy for decorations and would make a cool t-shirt design. Thanks for any help.
Saw this today. I don't have a use for it right now, but thought some of you parents and competitive coaches might want to check it out!

Well first meet of the season went good with some really big surprise! This was a judges cup and they gave out written critiques to take home.
She started on floor. This is by far her favorite event. She looked really good to me, but of course I am her mama. I saw a few mistakes but apparently...
My Level 4s have their first meet today (in a little under 2 hours). They're pumped.
Our goal is that everyone does the best they can do today, leaves smiling, and has a blast.
Hey Chalk Bucketer's. I know a few of you mom's went to the Sand Dollar meet last year. We are going this year - looking forward to the sunshine in January!
Quick question for you. Were you able to get discounted Disney Park Passes through the meet? A couple years ago we went to the Magical...
Hi, i have my second level 6 meet in two days. i did well on my first and the second wouldnt be that bad i guess the only thing is that we only had 1 practice between our 1st meet and this one because of labor day and breaks and things. we do have a mini-meet on friday but i dont know if that...
