We leave tomorrow morning (yes, she gets to miss school and everything!;)) for my oldest DD's first meet of the season...first "travel" meet ever. This is her "second" L4 season (she competed 2 meets last spring) and she is SO excited but also so nervous. And I am pretty much a wreck. I don't...
2nd meet of the year and I think she did great! At practice the night before she split the beam on her dismount and then fell over to the side and landed with her shoulder behind her. I was not there to witness it but her coach said she nearly had a heart attack because she thought Alex may...
Well the judges were brutal is how I will start this...
I am new to this state and heard that the Nebraska judges were tough but wow.....
Okay....
Let's start with Madi...
She has improved so much in the past week with these routines... I was so proud of her.
Madi got to start on bars and...
what steps can I take to get a medical bye for the Sectional meet? daughter was injured and can not compete Sectional, scores at all 3 prelims were high enough to qualify for State which she should be healed in time to compete.thx
Olivia had her 4th meet this weekend and it was a close replica of last week. Great floor! OK vault! Bars were sloppy and went over on her mill circle again!! And her jumps and leaps lack aptitiude on beam!
Here are her scores:
FX: 8.65 down from last week's 9.0 (placed 5th)
VT: 8.55 gets...
Well, Big D competed her Level 6 Jr. A District Championship last night and did good,
They started on vault and she got a 9.1 her highest score so far on vault and good enough for 2nd place
Then came bars, good routine, still working on getting those casts higher (they are working on cast to...
Well...no 9's tonight at our in-house meet for little DD...but also no 6's or 7's (or 5's which we have also gotten before!:o) We will take it! She also ended up finishing 2nd place in all 4 events and 2nd all around (out of 3...but...;))
Here are her scores and most importantly her BARS...
Well, my younger DD has her in-house meet tonight. She is competing L2. She has struggled and struggled with bars and got 6's at her first 3 meets!:o
Just this past week she has really started to pull it together and she can do pullover, back hip circle, AND sole circle dismount...sometimes...
Does your gym do league meets or invitationals? It seems like the invitationals that the judging is tougher or maybe the competition is tougher. Our gym does a combination of both and I noticed last year that my daughter would place in the top at the league meets but at the invitationals she...
Since we were shorted about 2 months of training... I think Emily did great.
We got to start off on Vault... Emily's favorite event of course:)
Looked good but I think would have been better at one setting lower than she vaulted on which was a 4 or 5 not totally sure. I think she looks great...
2 more before states in December. This was a very small meet in a very small club. The venue was less than desirable. Start time was 4:30pm didn't start till 5:30pm and ended at 9pm. There were only two sets of judges. First pair rotated between beam and vault. Second pair between floor and...
So Amber had a good meet with Dad and Uncle watching. It was very small with only 2 kids in her division. But...
Vault- Had a bit of trouble getting height- 8.0
Beam- warm up was amazing, lost her footing and fell (it was funny she screamed whoa) and got hit with a 7.550
Bars- amazing for her...
well after getting her back walkover last week... we regressed again this week but tonight I was at open gym with her just standing with my hand out and she was doing them... However, they won't do that. She has to do 110 more back walkovers by tomorrow to even compete it plus she has to do 3...
Alex had her first Level 4 meet this past weekend. She did awesome!! 1st place AA with a score of 34.2.
Bars - 8.75 - 2nd place

A few little issues to work on for her next meet but over all a great meet for her...
Good news is that Little Monkey qualified for Sectionals.
The frustration news.....and meet report:
First off, it seems that scoring is tougher in the southern part of the state - maybe Granny Smith can comment. This was our first invitational meet that was "down south" but it seemed across...
Oct 3rd, USAG Fall State qualifier.
This was a fun meet! I mean, really fun. We had gyms from all areas of Missouri attend, and the competition was pretty tight. Nastia was moved up to the 10 yr olds group since she'll be 10 during the Spring 2010 meet. This alone made her very nervous as we...
Well I love competition season! I love the excitment and all the stress that comes with it. This meet was especially nice for us for several reasons. First of all we were able to meet a fellow CBer, gym-mom-fla. It was so nice to actually be able to put a face to a name around here. And to watch...
Whew, what a day!
Even though Midget did not start until 1 PM we drove up last night and stayed in a hotel so there was no rush this morning. Drive is not bad but still 2.5 hours early was not something I wanted to do. Plus it makes the whole thing a big deal for the dd.
Even though there was...
DD has her 2nd L4 meet this weekend, Sunday. I am so stressed. She has been very sloppy all week in practice. I don't know what to think !!!
It has been so hard for me to keep my mouth shut. I have been helping out so I have been able to give some constructive tips like- run faster on your...
