My daughter had her final meet of the fall season this weekend which also happened to be our first experience with an in-house meet. I never appreciated what it takes to host a meet!
Once again, my daughter finished 4th AA. 4th EVERY meet! What makes this one a bit sweeter is that there were...
Hi all, thought I would share a little update. This is not really a brag, but wasn't sure where to put this.
Meet season starts in November, and we're ready! :) Well, I am for sure ready. I always look forward to the season and then once it gets going I always want it to be over. ;)
Older...
Just wondering how the girls training for level 9 this year are coming along. We now have about 4 months till our first meet and are getting closer to getting things together. Bars are proving to be the most challenging - I think we have the routine in pieces but cannot put it together yet...
Hi! Can I post this here nowadays? :)
It's been awhile since I've posted, but I thought I'd comment on DD's first L4 meet, especially after she's struggled so much this past year (thanks for letting me lean on you all here).
In discussions before the meet (due to DD's nerves) DD decided on a...
Is anyone else starting to get excited as competition season approaches? I know that a lot of different areas start the season at different times, but for our compulsory girls we are weeks away from our first competition.
You can tell the girls are really starting to get excited and I have to...
Came in the other night with a whole pile of new stuff.
Stuff - t-shirts, hoodies, practice shorts / leos
New comp shoes and leo (warm ups still to come)
New favorite t-shirt
Gotta love the start of another season!
Skills are going great. She is really pumped for this year.
Well first comp of the season was interesting. Unfortunately I am one of those gymnasts that gets skills really easily but they look less than beautiful even though they are technically correct. I just struggle with keeping legs tight all the time etc.
Vault:
Was normal, but the vault was into...
Hey All,
The wife finally finished production on Trinity's last two meets of the season. The Northern Lights Classic in Minnesota and the Washington State Level 7 State Championships. I believe she placed first overall in The Northern and 2nd overall in Washington State (well I know she...
Was a Level 4 State Championship "fun meet".
Her first meet this season she ended in 12th AA, with a 29.0
Her State Meet she was age 6b Beam and Bar Champ..and ended with a 34.25
2nd on Floor, Vault, and 2nd AA. (girl who beat her did it by .05...lol)
Not her best meet this season...but close...
I have heard a lot about the girls changing, but didn't hear anything about the boys changing, so I thought that they weren't. But now I hear they may be as well.
So, are the boys changing too? Where do you get info about this? I know the stock answer will be "Trust your coach" which I do, but...
My daughter competed Sunday April 1st at her last level 5 meet of the season. She did a great job and I was so proud of her! She started on bars and ended up with a 9.175 and 1st place. Went next to beam and did a great job but had one pretty big wobble. Got a 8.95 and 3rd place. Next she went...
My first meet is only 3 1/2 weeks away! It is a preseason meet with my whole entire team(328 girls) but its still pretty nerve reckoning. This is my first season as an optional so I have my own routines. Please wish me luck!
Just wanted to share! We had our home meet this weekend and I competed on friday afternoon. I hit all my events, had a personal best score on floor and met two of my goals for the season! Here's how I placed:
Vault: 11.85 and 4th place (I couldn't find the right run the entire time.)
bars: 11.7...
And it didn't start well at all, resulting in ending last.:bawling:
She started on bars and she finally mastered the kip last Wednesday. And she was being a little stubborn and adamant to put that element in. With warming up, she did it, but on the competition, it didn't work. Then she had to...
wishing my dd and her teammate good luck on their first meet of the season! Hope they stick it. Have promised them starbucks for every 9 and for every event without a fall. Yes, I am bribing the kids! lol
wow seems like DD just had her L5 states and already her new season is getting ready to start. DD finished L5 in December. She has her first Xcel Gold meet next Saturday. She loves her new beam routine and she loves her floor music & started learning her routine yesterday. She loves it so far...
Ok DD did OK. Did not place in the top 2 but was close to their scores. The Team came out with a huge lead and took first with a 134.35. Next meet on Friday for HS and Sunday for the Club. DD is loving the HS team.
Her scores
Bars - 7.40
Beam - 8.30
Floor - 7.00
Vault 8.05
AA - 30.75...
We have an 4 hr trip to get to her second meet of the season. It will involve an over-night stay. So that will be fun. Plus it's a meet her gym has never been to before. And this is her first out of state meet. So, lots of new experiences.
It should be fun..lol
