I've been a gymnast for over 35 years and I'm thinking of retiring. In the past two years I've had rotator surgery and a torn achilles. Sooo... I'm thinking about slowing down a bit and always told myself when I retire I'm going to get a tattoo on my forearm of a tumbling pass.

i have a level 7 gymnast that is VERY afraid of going backwards. This is her second year at level 7 and last season went fine. Something happened at the beginning this summer and now she is afraid to tumble backwards, anything backwards on the beam and will not do a flyaway. Is there anything i...
Well, it's been a long road for Em since she blew out her knee in February, but she is not only tumbling on floor again, but actually working through her whole floor routine :D She tumbled on floor for the first time a week and a half ago, and literally limped into the house which had me more...
Hi everyone. First let me thank everyone for their good luck wishes and healing vibes for Olivia. It worked. We went to the ortho this morning and he has released her to tumble ~ on the tumble trak for right now but she was ecstatic! And she can run again, too. She's felt so out of place...
Today, at gym i was super bouncy on floor, and had ALOT of height in my twisting, so I would almost land on my face when I did 1 1/2 twist, so, I tried 1 1/2 punch out, to see what it would be like, and it turned into a punch layout! woohoo! so happy! Also, my other new line is round off whip...
Well it is good news/bad news in our house these days. Em did her first RO BHS's on the tumble track tonight, 8 months after rupturing her ACL and generally trashing her knee. It's been a really long and painful journey to get from there to here, but Em has proven herself to be far tougher...
Lately, i've been having A LOT of trouble with tumbling. Last year, i didn't evem have to think about it. It was just " set higher" or "point toes." Now, i can't just go for it! I always bock out of my roundoff, and i don;t always go. I have to think of each step, like going roundoff, then...
I'm a gymnast and a power tumbler at level 9 in both sports. B/c of some issues with gymnastics, i'm not sure if i'll be able to do gymnastics much longer; however, i'd like to know if there are any full-ride scholarships for power tumbling? please reply back and help :D
Hi I'm a cheerleader and I want to impress the crowd by tumbling during football games, but I'm scared of throwing handsprings on hard floor, even though it's pretty much the same thing as doing it on a regular floor. Does anyone have any suggestions how to throw them on hard floor without...
Hi, I'm a level four gymnast looking to get into a higher level. What are the passes for each level? Someone told me that the front tumbling pass for level 7 is a front handspring stepout to a front handspring, feet together. Can you give me all the passes, front and back?
I've noticed that every level 9 or 10 women's floor routine seems to have 3 tumbling passes. However, unless I missed something, I haven't found anywhere in the rules where the number of tumbling passes required is specified.
Are there any clarifications/interpretations/rules I might have...
Hi. I am a 2nd year level 7 and I am still having trouble with tumbling. I just took 2 months off and I came back to gym a couple weeks ago. I just went to practice today and I kept falling on my face in my layout. I do the round off back handspring right and I can do great tucks but I just...
Tonight I am finally going to ease my way into backwards tumbling. I always had a huge fear about it when I was a competetive gymnast (low levels.... very low) and I have decided that today is the day.
I shall begin with a back tuck from the trampoline onto one of those REALLY soft mats and go...
I am a level 7 gymnast and i struggle in getting enough power in my passes. I feel really slow when im going, sometimes i can get my backwards tumbling fast but i never can get enough power in my front handspring to go for my front tuck after that. Does anyone have tips in better tumbling?
So i think i finally have this..

Are three tumbling passes needed in a L8 and/or L9 floor routine? I believe there needs to be three saltos with two being in the same pass. So can all requirements be met in two passes. My daughter is having some trouble with endurance.

I'd love to hear everybody's thoughts on this. It runs counter to what I (and most coaches I know) regard as proper technique, yet it sort of makes sense the way Watanabe explains it. I wouldn't say I'm completely sold on this approach yet, but I'm probably going to have some of my...
Sometimes during our artistic gymnastics classes our coach gets us on the trampoline. My coach told that I have some really nice skills on trampoline and that I should I try it. I do have to pay for it with my own money if I try it, so would it be worth trying out a session of tramp and tumbling...
