Alex has her 4th meet this Sunday morning bright and early at 8:00 AM. They have really been working hardcore on the floor routine. Really tweaking form and timing with the music.
She has left a couple of practices kind of frazzeled.
HOpefully this new focus on form will come through at...
So I usually coach the preteam kids but recently started working the young level 4 group. I think all of them are new level 4's. In the dismount for level 4 USAG bars do they have to squat on or just pike?
OK the wait is over our first meet is under our belts and Bug rocked it. She placed 3rd all around against girls that were one their 3rd or 4th meet of the season.
Bars was first, 9.25, bent arms and near fall on cut back, but the rest was great.
Beam 9.225 (personal best) wobble...
DD had her first meet of the season finally and she did really well. I am so proud of her! I have been anxiously and very nervously awaiting meet season. I was more nervous this year then last year, I guess the expectations are different so I was stressing a bit more - LOL. This was a much...
Hi everyone! Well, Kylie had her third L4 meet yesterday, Fright Invite, which was a Halloween themed meet. Very fun with lots of candy and judges in costumes. The competition was tough, several very strong teams from Fl.
First up, vault. She has really been struggling with vault. She...
2nd meet of the year and I think she did great! At practice the night before she split the beam on her dismount and then fell over to the side and landed with her shoulder behind her. I was not there to witness it but her coach said she nearly had a heart attack because she thought Alex may...
Well the judges were brutal is how I will start this...
I am new to this state and heard that the Nebraska judges were tough but wow.....
Okay....
Let's start with Madi...
She has improved so much in the past week with these routines... I was so proud of her.
Madi got to start on bars and...
Olivia had her 4th meet this weekend and it was a close replica of last week. Great floor! OK vault! Bars were sloppy and went over on her mill circle again!! And her jumps and leaps lack aptitiude on beam!
Here are her scores:
FX: 8.65 down from last week's 9.0 (placed 5th)
VT: 8.55 gets...
Just wondering how many of those that have DD doing level 4 are in grips. DD is a cross between a repeat level 4 and a first year level 4. WI is a state in which the state meet in in Dec. DD started competing level 4 in Jan of this year, so she has yet to go to the state meet as a level 4...
Judges, Ineed your help, coaches too, or anyone..... mostly judges tho, I am about 5'7" I am in level 4. For the vault, my past three meets,my scores have been a 9.2. Then, my past two meets, i have gotten, 8.6 and 8.7s.... Why? my coaches have asked the judges but htey have no reason, they...
In the level 4 floor routine during the handstand bridge kickover are the girls supposed to keep their legs together on the bridge part? My daughter is having a hard time doing this. It looks as though her feet slip out from under her and she falls on her back. If her legs are not completely...
Alex had her first Level 4 meet this past weekend. She did awesome!! 1st place AA with a score of 34.2.
Bars - 8.75 - 2nd place

A few little issues to work on for her next meet but over all a great meet for her...
Well I love competition season! I love the excitment and all the stress that comes with it. This meet was especially nice for us for several reasons. First of all we were able to meet a fellow CBer, gym-mom-fla. It was so nice to actually be able to put a face to a name around here. And to watch...
DD has her 2nd L4 meet this weekend, Sunday. I am so stressed. She has been very sloppy all week in practice. I don't know what to think !!!
It has been so hard for me to keep my mouth shut. I have been helping out so I have been able to give some constructive tips like- run faster on your...
Well, we survived our first Level 4 meet! We were in Daytona, which is where my parents live, so it was especially fun for Kylie. Also really sweet, 2 of my mom's best friends (and husbands!) came along to watch her, so she had quite the cheering section!
She was the only one from her gym...
Please, take a swing...bc deep down inside I'm KNOW I'm probably being unreasonable BUT I HAVE to ask.
For those that haven't already read my 1000 questions she's a young seven, level 4 USAG.
First season, 4th meet.
In everyone's experience, how much does how they do in level 4 weigh on how...
Hello all! It's been a while, but I feel a need to gloat.
I imagine it's typical for summer training to be somewhat boring, repetitive, disconnected, and still challenging to constantly remind herself how much she loves the sport? We can't be alone. I mean, when iCarly trumps gym, something is...
Hi everyone, trying to get back in the groove of posting here, meet season seems to be in full swing! Dd has her first L4 meet this week-end. It's out of town for us in Daytona Bch, which happens to be where my parents live, so we are very excited (and no need to spend $ on a hotel...yeah)...
I'm curious once again...
Level 4 USAG, on the beam no falls etc. but missed that handstand "twist" at the very end (not sure what it's called hahaha). Finishes and salutes etc.
Coach then tells her to try again. Gets it this time.
I'm wondering...I thought if her feet had hit the floor and she...
