Why is a back tuck on beam harder than a BHS Series?
I know many L9 girls and all of them
say that the BHS Series is a lot harder than a back tuck!
If you can tuck easily on floor and are exact on the landing it shouldn't be that hard! Am I wrong?
My daughter is having issues with this skill. She actually said she hated it. She has started practicing her BHS on beam and says this is easier. She is still on the floor doing the BHS on a foam beam.
She says the BWO hurts her back. Is she perhaps doing it wrong or is she just not...
I have been thinking a lot if I should do a V-Sit or a press handstand mount on beam, because I like them both but am too weak to combine the two (like V-Sit to Press Handstand - can't get my feet through!).
Now that I heard about the "Korbut flip" I was thinking if it was possible to do a...
Lately I have been having trouble with my cartwheel on beam. I have been practicing on a low beam with panel mats on either side but I just can't seem to get it. I have a good cartwheel on the floor, as well as on a line, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. When I start doing the cartwheel, i...
I've been having some issues with BWO BHS on beam- more mental than anything else! Are there any drills I can do at home to make myself more comfortable? I have a foldable floor beam "line" I can use. Thanks!
EDIT: coaches, do you prefer your gymnasts to do BWO BHS two foot or BWO BHS stepout...
I've never been scared of anything. Well anything I can remember. But right now I'm scared to even touch a beam. I'm not scared of the skills I'm just scared of falling and getting hurt. I don't know how to handle this.
How hard is a Side Aerial on beam?
I never tried it, I just have my Aerial on floor.
It took me a while to get an Aerial on floor standing, so not from a hurdle, but now that I have got it, it is not that hard.
Of course I don't know, but I guess it shouldn't be very different on beam than on...
I started working on back walkovers on my beam at home (trying to get over a fear) and I keep falling to one side of the beam, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any advice?
I have this fear of doing a bhs on beam, I always want someone to stand there because I am scared I will miss my hands or do something crazy like I have done before. How do I get over this fear?
It's embarrassing to post, but my beam shoes are RANK.
I have tried airing them out which doesn't help much, and even carpet deodorizer (sort of helps, but they end up smelling like weird fake perfumed flowers and, well... sweaty gymnast feet). Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get them...
We have 2 girls doing level 7 at the presidential classic next year and I was wondering if you
Can you BHS x BHS for your acro connection?
Can you back tuck on beam in level 7?
Thanks
I suddenly have a fear of doing round offs on beam (not dismount). I have been doing them on the floor beam, but can't find any motivation/bravery to do them on a low beam. I used to be able to do this skill on the low beam but I all of a sudden got a mental block. I believe that my round-off is...
Does anyone know if after the handstand in the beam routine, and then the leg swiftly kicks up and back; does the kicking foot then join the other in releve without any steps, or can the gymnast take a small step in releve before the half turn? One coach says it's fine to take a small step in...
Some of my gymnasts do gainer pikes off the end of the beam, one of them takes off slightly wonky every time and lands to the side if the beam this mean it will get downgraded, does anyone have and tips/drills that will help her to take off in a straight line so she can get credited it as a 'c'...
My daughter has had trouble doing twisting skills. I think she learned to do arabians first at her former gym. So when she was being trained for fulls shortly thereafter, she was twisting very early and getting lost in the air. In addition, I think she was rushed into doing fulls for TOPs and...
I am an AUS coach so I don't know what the terms are in the US for this skill, but we call it a tuck through to pike hold or a squat through to pike. It is a mount on beam that my gymnasts are competing this year. Many of the girls are having trouble not touching the beam with their feet on the...
Hi, newbie here . My daughter has just turned 7 and has already made squad status , which I'm proud of .
My gripe is , Libby can do backwalkovers on a high beam and has done so for a month or so but all of a sudden she's very frightened again ? Any tips ? It's so frustrating !!
My DD is training new level 5 now and while she is doing back walkovers on the beam she gets lower back pain. It doesn't bother her any other time and never bothered her before while doing them on the floor. I took her Urgent Care and the doctor didn't think it was anything other than muscle...
