I want a forward or side acro skill in my beam routine.
So far, I am doing a BH and a Back Tuck.
I don't want a Cartwheel. I have my side aerial but I think it will be hard on beam.
So I thought about a Front Toss to Sit on beam!
Here is a video:
Is this a hard move? Do you think it is...
My DD main coach, who is on vacation till next week and has become a family friend, just messaged me that she purchased some CDs called the Romanian Beam Complex for DD Christmas present. Has anyone had any experience with these CDs? I think I am just nervous because of the "Romanian" in the...
My DD (11 yrs old) has been struggling with her beam connection for several months. There was a point where she was on the cusp of getting it consistently, then lost it over the summer during recovery from a minor injury. Then, some fears have crept in with the advent of puberty. I've tried to...
I was wondering if anyone has ever struggled with this or has any advice:
I think that doing beam is the most exhausting thing ever---like infinitely more tiring than floor routines. It is difficult to get through a beam routine just because it feels like I want to stop and rest halfway...
Ok...without going into detail on why my level 6 gymnast cant do a back walkover or a back handspring on beam (this would be like writing a short novel)...is there anything else that can replace those? Can she do say a round off or front walkover? What if she did a skill to replace the back...
I am planning to get my daughter a beam for the holidays. Can anyone recommend one? I think I will wait on the bar but wondering if anyone has any opinions in bars at home? Safe? Concern about forming bad habits?
i have a girl who tends to spiral off the beam as she turns. How can I help her to not do this? She has a dance background, so she knows how to turn...on the floor.
I am trying to understand Level 6 beam requirements. It is my understanding that Level 6 beam requires one "B" skill (plus the As). Does a BWO-BWO series satisfy the B requirement? My daughter has her BHS on beam but not confident and consistent enough to compete it at this point. They are...
Hi All, My DD (almost 8) started gym in Feb. of this yr. and was invited to join one of their team dev. classes shortly after and just recently moved up to Pre-Team. She LOVES gymnastics and had tons of crazy energy. She usually picks up skills pretty quick. But, right now is STRUGGLING with...
in level 9 I see you can do both bhs X bhs or bhs X back tuck/LO
do you get a bonus for doing the layout/back tuck in the connection or can my gymnast just compete bhs X bhs and have the same start value??:)
Last year I coached the level 3s and they did really really well...3 state champions and top 10 for team! Their were 9 girls in the group and their ages ranged from 7-12 (only one 7 year old). This year I have 14 level 3s.....14!! And their all so much younger. Within that group I have three 6...
I used to be able to do really good leaps on the beam. While I was doing one, I straddled the beam and now I have a fear of them. How can I get over this mental block?
I spend far more time working on bars and vault skills than on beam on floor!
I would have been ready for my competition on floor and beam almost a year ago, but I just needed the time for bars and vault...although I am strong on bars and the yurchenko vault isn't that hard I think, it just...
DD is 7 and competing L5. She has competed both BWO and BHS on beam. Both of these have bent knees. She does a beautiful BWO on floor, but says she can't do it like that on beam without falling. Same with her BHS. Her coach doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. In fact, she told DD...
I am working on getting a back handspring on beam, but I need to get it pretty quickly if I want to compete Platinum. Are there any safe, easy drills I can do to work on it at home? I don't have any mats or anything at home.
