Finally a meet where bars were not first....3 good routines then BARS. Missed her blind half and didn't know what she should do to get back on track. Jumped down and started again and caught both releases but DARN bars! Off to regionals as part of the Iowa contingent! Few weeks to work on...
My old thread went missing... so, here I go again.
continuing on.... we had the parents meeting, was very brief lasted only 30 mins. Hc did say that only those who scored top 10 are moving up. im worried and my dd is worried.
Or gym is hosting a state meet in early May. We have been given the go-ahead to plan a table for gymnast gifts/"good luck grams".
I'm just looking for some ideas that would sell well and that parents and girls would enjoy.
Thanks!!
So I am in charge of ordering the level 8/9/10 state gifts for the girls this year. Cost per girl is between $15-$20. They range in age from 10-16 years old . Any suggestions ?? Links to good online stores ?? Thanks !!!
Does anyone know the criteria to qualify for the mens state meet in South Carolina? For girls last year there was a minimum score that varied by level. I can't find any information on our state site or anywhere else. Thank you very much!!
States here are very competitive; there are a few "super gyms" who get extremely high scores, so we usually run into the buzz saw and our girls don't place that well. At DD's first states, she had a 37.6 AA and ended up in 15th place. There were only a few L5 girls at our states this year, so...
Dd did a great job at the State meet but I need to vent. Beam is really her event. She sticks the CW 90% of the time and never messes up at competition. I was soooo sad to see her wobble big time, but she saved it ( she didn't fall). With the first place going with a 9.125, the coach was certain...
Anyone have any experience with scoring differences? The routines are the same and the judges are same ones who are at USAG meets for whatever that is worth. DD's team is usag, but they participated in a state rec league meet. She did well, but just curious how that typically compares to USAG...
In my gym "mailbox" I got an order form for a commemorative GK State leo. I can't recall seeing any gymnasts wearing a State leo (from last year). Perhaps, I never looked?
Anyway, does anyone buy these? I like the idea, but I don't want to "flaunt" that DD made State in case the rest of her...
Our gym is probably the 4 or 5th best gym in the state. 20 min away is the best gym in the state. I have been torn for awhile whether to move my younger DD to this gym, because DD is now a 9 yr old level 7, with some level 8 and 9 skills, and while our gym has an excellent reputation for...
How does the scoring work? Do you have to have near perfect scores to generally qualify for national testing? DD just completed testing and I have no idea how this works!
I found the article below to be very interesting. It's a different perspective on the coaching dilemma that I've seen referenced a few times. What do others think? For parents who have had a bad or less than ideal coaching experience (I'm not talking about a general disagreement about level...
This is a spin-off of a thread in the Xcel group, but since there is more traffic here, thought I'd pose the question here, too.
Does anyone have a good understanding of who makes State Team in North Carolina Xcel? (Bronze & Silver specifically, if that matters.)
If so, I have questions :)...
:rolleyes:Why does the Regional registration close before the State meet is held? Some athletes would like to wait and see if they qualify for nationals at the state level before spending extra money to go to regionals. I wonder how many people will be paying for regionals jus in case and then...
I'm having a bit of an anxiety attack (not at all dramatic or over the top.) :D:p
DD's state meet is coming up this weekend. She is level one. We switched gyms mid season (long story), and she was not going to do any meets until next year as a level 3 (did several meets at old gym). Her new...
At the start of the state meet this weekend, the head of TxUSAG stated that there were 80 more participants than last year. I find that incredible. That is a 34% increase. I wish USAG would post annual participation numbers.
I am wondering what else everyone is noticing in their state and...
