So I've been helping teach a beginners class since April and week after week the girls jumps on beam haven't changed. I'm finally taking over the class and really want to help them improve. I know they are scared, but they are literally jumping one cm off the beam. I was just curious if they're...
I saw someone doing a back walk over, but ending with the other foot.
So if my DD takes off with the right, normally she would put her right foot down.
This skill is a switch and she would land with her left, and kind of go through a hand stand.
Any idea If it is a skill, and if it has a name?
I have tried to search, but it's not working well for me, and I'm trying to figure this out "today".
Can someone tell me if a layout is required for L6 floor, or would the ROBHSBT fulfill requirement?
Also - is a CWBT dismount on mean necessary, or would a front tuck dismount fulfill that...
DD has B+B+C (BHS+BHS+BLO) for flight on beam. She thinks the b+b+c is .3 bonus, however if I am looking at the code of points correctly for triple flight I think only .10 which seem so low. Is it worth it? Need help please.
Recently I have been trying to learn a front walkover on the beam! I can do them really well on the floor but when I get onto the beam I'm too scared because you can't see where you feet are going when you come over the top! I'm scared that my foot will slip off or miss the beam! How do I get...
My DD just started training L5 and is afraid to attempt a BWO on the medium height beam. She has been doing it successfully on the low beam for a few weeks. The coach will not spot a BWO on beam as she told dd it's harder to do it alone if she gets used to a spot. There will be a coaching change...
Coach wants me to compete an aerial full dismount off beam in level 8 or 9.
What is the skill worth (A, B?), and does anyone have a video? I can't find one, and I'm a kid who needs to see it before they do it.
Thanks for the help!
WHEW is all I can say....as a host team family we all worked so hard all weekend to pull this meet off. In the midst of the controlled chaos...Sophia competed. First was floor...gorgeous routine and a fall on last pass....I held my breath and she did a beautiful vault (Start Value 9.7) and...
I know I should be excited and all, but if I hadn't fallen on the beam I would have won 1s aa and first on beam. (It was a spectacular fall as wellI grabbed on to the beam and hung on, so I didn't touch the ground) and I got a 9.0. The winner got a 9.45 so I would have won! I also won second on...
Hello, coaches!
I have a question about the feet placement during a side aerial (D) + back layout step-out (C) connection on beam. More specifically, if you have a lefty gymnast which foot should be in front at the end of the side aerial/take-off for the layout step-out, and which foot should...
I have a while until optionals....but I may do xcel next year. My back is very flexible, in my backwalkover my hands are practically at my feet (or so I'm told). My coaches want to put my valdez on beam- it is beautiful on floor. However I have problems getting my hands on... how are they...
Hi everybody! My name is Leia and I am 13 years old and I am currently a level 8 gymnast. Currently my series on beam is a walkover- handspring. I have been under so much stress it's not even funny, by parents, by coaches and by regionals.
My problem is that I have problems standing there for...
So what are the rules regarding beam shoes. My DD is an 11 yo training 5/6/7 (we'll see where she falls come competition season). She has a severe case of hyperhidrosis (sweating condition) and over the last year and a half has fractured her growth plate in her shoulder and was out for several...
We've had 3 girls in the past year tear their ACL and menicus in landing their twisting skills. This does not seem uncommon either as we've heard many sustain these injuries doing similar twisting skills. My daughter has decided she is removing her tumbling pass with a twisting skill. So she...
Hello, so i've got a few questions, i've been learning my back tuck on beam with my feet next to each other, but i've seen lots of gymnasts who put one foot in front of the other, is it easier to stay on this way? Same with roundoff off beam, lots of gymnasts do this with their feet behind each...
One night, while waiting for the girls to release from practice, a couple of the moms noticed that a couple of the girls did their BHS different from some of the others. I'd really kind of forgotten about being curious about it until another thread reminded me so I wanted to come ask this...
My team is relatively weak on their split leaps and split jumps on both beam and floor.
There are several problems.
I have several that have good height and good split but their legs are bending getting the split position. Kind of a stag but it's certainly not a lift straight up with front or...
