I had state recently and thought I would share the results with you :)
I started on vault did what I think was a pretty normal vault for me but the judges thought it was good! 9.425 highest vault score since level 4.hehe
Bars was next. We changed mty bar routine from the last meet from kip...
Kyrie finished her season yesterday at her state meet. I am so proud of her and think she did a terrific job. She didn't place and the competition was tough but she is always a winner in her mommy's eyes.
Here is a montage of her meet and please guess the scores: (I will post the scores...
Hi there - my older dd (Level 7) has her state meet coming up and her coach has decided to have her compete 2 clear circles for the meet. She has scored a 9.05 and a 9.15 on her routine this year without a giant, but my question is do you think the judges are less likely to give a high score at...
Is the jump from level 7 to level 8 a difficult one? If so, what are the required skills that gymnasts tend to have difficulty? I've read Level 7 to Level 8 bars is not a big one, but that the vault may be tricky. I am looking for both experiences from gymnasts who have made this transition as...
What are your thoughts on these levels? It seems that around here, the gyms do things differently after level 5. Some do level 6. Some do "Prep Op" (am still not 100% certain of what this consists of). Some do level 7.
What are the disadvantages of going from level 5 to level 7?
Am trying to...
If in a level 7 beam routine you leave out the flight element entirely, what is the deduction? Is it a lower start value and a deduction? What if you perform the flight and fall? Which is better? Just curious.
So my DD finally competed her first optional competition this past weekend. It was the Sand Dollar Invitational and had a lot of great competitors. She did a really good job and I am so proud of her. Here is a video of the meet:

I was told by my coach that I could do a bar routine without giants & this is the order:
-kip
-freehip
-kip
-squat on
-jump, swing uprise
-freehip
-kip
-cast
-flyaway
Am I allowed to do this routine & does it have all the A's & B's I need?
Also, can I do a Yama****a on vault?
Hello all,
I'm preparing to take my Level 7/8 women's gymnastics judging exam and was wondering if anyone would want to help me out by linking to or uploading videos of your gymmie (or yourself) competing Level 7 or 8 routines in the USAG system.
Ideally, the score would be hidden or behind...
DD had her last level 7 meet, before moving to L8. (she did one l8 meet a few weeks ago)
Started on Floor: 9.4 2nd place Nice tumbling and beautiful dance.
Vault: 9.0 best vault I have seen her do fronthandspring has never been her friend with her flexible back! 6th place

DD will start competing next weekend and she and I don't fully understand the bars scoring. She is competing clear hip on the low bar and giant on the high bar. Her coach was trying to explain different bar routines and start values but it went right over my head! If DD does clear hip below...
The good luck fairies worked last time for level 6 so I thought I would try again for my DD's first level 7 meet coming up saturday. I just want her to have fun and get experience performing her own routines. I am very proud of how she has handled the stresses of scoring out of level 6...
I was looking over the optional requirements the other day and wondered, if a routine includes a 180° split jump is a leap still required? My question for the turn is, can a 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 turn be used at level 7?
Here is a video of Kyrie practicing her Level 7 beam routine, still needs some work but hopefully by January it will be great.

Hi everyone, it feels like forever since I've been here. Olivia is slowly progressing at the gym. Seems the time away from tumbling, running and dismounts because of her knee injury has taken it's toll on her. She's having some major fear issues and we're only 1 week away from her first meet...
