This may be futile, but I'll try anyway. :) My level 7 dd is struggling with vault. She's really frustrated because it's her worst event and she can't figure out how to improve it. She thinks it's been disintegrating. I disagree. I think she's been scoring lower in 7 than 6 just because...
My daughter (level 2) is still what the coach calls "pike" on her vault. Presently, she is landing on mats and I guess she cannot progress to full handspring (without the mats) until she is no longer pike.
Can anyone help? Is there something that would help her?
I appreciate any ideas.
Thanks.
Hey. :) Well, I'm a level 8 and I have to compete yurchenko tuck, but now I can't even do a handspring. :p I need to get it by next week though, 'cause my coach said he'll send me back to level 4...so prayers and the vault fairy are much needed!
being level four my vault is a handstand flatback.
I have been told i am piking but i don't know how to fix it, could it be that the springboard is to close or too far from the vaulting table? how do you measure how far it should be? This piking thing is bugging me because my coach says its...
I have one gymnast who has a nice pike tsuk, but she recently started working front fronts. They are ok, not great. But what is the point of switching? I'm wondering how you go about choosing a vault to train? What criteria is used?
Also, I wanted to post this in the coaches forum, but...
I had 2 different meets this weekend. One was a high school meet one was a regular USAG prep opt and optionals meet.
I have a couple of girls on my 2 high school teams that are very good vaulters. 4 of them have competed level 7 or higher and scored 9.5 or better on front handspring vaults...
Hi all! Just wanted to brag a moment on my dd. She had an awesome meet this weekend where she earned her first 36AA for level 6. She actually placed 1st AA with a 36.50! As amazing as that is, the day was just Emma's. If you all remember her struggles with vault from last year, you will...
I was wondering how to successfully through a tsuk vault. I've practiced many times doing a 1/4 or 1/2 on then pushing off onto a mat, but I've never tried to flip on the real vault. At my old gym I used to do a lot of tsuks into the pit, but I'd always end up on my knees (this was in level 5)...
My DD is a, short for her age 8 year old L5. Her team all vaults on the same settings from the 8 year olds to the 13 year olds. They practice on 6 but set it for meet at a 3. She is struggling a little on vault. At meets I 've notice that other teams set the table much lower for the little...
My dd Emma has been working on her vault. One of the reasons she is repeating 3. She had a hard time going from the level 3 vault to a level 4. We bought her a mini tramp the other day. Were able to correct her jumping. Her run is lots better. She kept doing forward rolls and was not anywhere...
Hey guys,
so i have been training a lot on vault but whenever i seem to start i have this mental block thing and then i don't reach out and i have to whip myself off the vault everytime. i have been trying to fix it but nothing is working!!! any advice?? Please help!!! :(
As someone fairly new to coaching itry to be a 'sponge' when I am in the gym shadowing coaches & helping out.
Any suggestions for helping a L5 speed up her entire vault ? It'snot all that bad but way s...l...o...w...
Should you ever use chalk on a ZZi/O composite leather vault table or will the chalk just make it slippery & defeat the purpose of it? And how far away from the wall should the table be on the sides?
Single arm circle backward during the hurdle phase. Arms should be forward on contact.
I think that you'll generally see some version of this, however small, but some of the best vaulters do more of a back/forward swing - or a very fast, small arm circle.
My daughter injured the ball of her foot. it bothers her only on vault. I thought maybe a little extra padding would help? Having a hard time finding anything . . any suggestions?
THANKS
HI. :) I'm trying to go into level 8 by next year, and I thought I had all my skills. I used to be able to do yurchenko tucks with spot and now I can't even do a handspring. Every time I go up to the vault I somehow stop myself and crash. Does anyone have any tips to help me to just go??
ok so i'v been having this mental block type thing on vault. its with my steps. they were fine before i left for thanksgiving break. but now my steps are all messed up. its so bad that by the time i get to the vault table im pretty much walking. its really annoying becuase im trying to perfect...
Midget has Compulsory States this weekend. Still no mill Circle, evil thing that it is. She is so close though. Literally an inch from getting high enough. but she has been struggling with keeping her legs straight and together. If she could do that even without the Mill it would be very good...
I have been having a lot of trouble on vault lately. I have this fear problem on every event, and my coaches have really helped me get over it but, I am still really scared on vault. My vault is a simple front handspring. I am about 5, 2" and my board is practically a foot away from the vault...
