Can someone clarify the level 8 allowable/required skills on beam and floor? Our girls have been working back tucks on beam, but the coaches are now saying that only C dance skills are allowed on beam & floor. No C acro. This contradicts my understanding from previous threads on here. I have...
Can you do say a BWO/BHS series and then a RO/BT dismount in a level 6 or 7 beam routine? Then for the jumps a split leap split/ jump combo or is that too many "b" elements? All in the same routine. Just wondering not saying that is the plan or anything DD was just asking.
DD is competing her front on beam for first time tomorrow.....eeeek .
Was going to do flick-tuck as well, but this has been removed as still using a mat. So that's one less thing to worry about.
I will pass the camcorder to dad and close my eyes !!
I just have a quick question about the level 4 and 5 beam routines.
Right after the mount there is kind of an 'arm circles' thing as you stand up. I learned the level 5 you do a full circle and then pose verse level 4 is kind of a one arm then pose.
The videos are posted here...
Ok my dd has been doing full turns on beam For about two years starting a few months ago she has been going too fast and falls most of the time she is beyond fustrated and has had several coaches help her they just say slow down. She says she doesn't know how. Any ideas??
So my daughter was pulling up old videos and found a routine with Vanessa Atler where she did a front tuck half on beam. It was very cool, but I don't think I've seen anyone else do it. Does it just not have enough value or is it deceptively hard? Just curious since I technically know nothing...
Okay so when I was a level five (now four) I had my front walkover on high beam no problem, I stuck them every time. We took a little break from front walkovers and now I cant do them even on the low beam. I get to a split handstand and just turn of. Any tips?
P.S I have my front walkover on...
My little one brought her little foam roll-up beam out of the closet last night at 10:00. I said, "Sweetie, why are you getting that out right now?"
She replied, "I need to get my back walkover on beam!"
I said, "Why? You don't need that skill for this next level."
She gave me the look and...
I've started working on backhandsprings on beam, and I'd like some tips...
I'm just wondering if anyone has any "tricks" that will make it easier
thanks
I'm just curious for more information on the level 6 beam and floor requirements.
For beam, what are the requirements in general, as well as what are the 'skills' you can do? Such as, what are the options other than back walkovers and back handsprings?
For Floor, just what are the requirements...
What is the big skills on the new Level 4?
I am wondering how much I'm going to be flinching this upcoming season and how much practice want to avoid to minimize grey hair lol
My dd is having trouble with her cartwheel on beam. She has it but split the beam about a year ago and is scared to try again. Any thoughts on getting past the fear?
Can compulsory kids do this in a meet? I've always allowed kids to chalk their hands or feet if they need to, but I have a kid in class that feels like she needs to chalk the beam for her full turn...is this allowed in a meet? Also, what about the runway for vault? I know that you can't stick a...
As some of you may have read, my coach is leaving soon. I have been working on a bunch of skills with her, and it makes me sad to think that she won't be here to see me get them. I've decided I want to get one more skill with her before she leaves, and I think the one I am closest too is getting...
We've just started doing back handsprings on beam. We've done drills (Back handsprings up to panel mats and others) and now we've started trying them with mats stacked up so it's not quite even with the beam, but high enough so you won't crash if your hands don't land on the beam.
Well my back...
I have recently developed a fear on beam with backwalkovers! I used to be able to do these fine but then my mind freaked out and now I can't get my self to go backwards even on low beam!
Any suggestions on how to get myself to go backwards?
Thanks!
In the new elements for L3 (would be old l4) Do the girls do a split handstand on beam, or do a full HS and show a split before stepping down? Some of the descriptions are not to clear ;)
