DD learned it today. She hasn't done it to the music yet; but knows the routine and showed it to me at the end of practice. I think it is a lot prettier than her AAU 3 routine from last year. She really likes it too. :-)
I also think that what I have seen of the beam routine is prettier.:p
Anybody else going to be in Reno this weekend? If so and if schedules allow it, I was thinking we could have a CB coaches meetup, get together for a drink or two, swap drills/stories, etc.
Anybody interested?
(If there is enough interest, I'm ok with exchanging contact info via PM, but let me...
My Wife is in Florida learning the new routines right now...anyone else?
How's it going? Anything crazy about the new routines?
Sounds like there ended up being 3 different music choices for both L4 and L5?
I went back to gymnastics this year after taking two years off, I'm on my high school team. I want to work on more skills for next high school season, so I go to an adult class 1-2 nights a week. It's mostly like an open gym for adults, with some coaches there to help you if you need it...
I have a competition on Saturday, one of the most important ones in the year, and guess when I got my routine? Yesterday. I have two sessions left to practice, but it'll be difficult to learn and perfect it in that time. Wish me luck? :')
What would you say is a good number of routines a week or day? Are you for high number of routines? Routines everyday? Or more for less but still some routines?
I am relatively new to WAG. I have a MAG competitor....Night and Day!!
Once the routines change, is USAG trying to eliminate the need for Xcel? Or will this still be part of track B (if you will)? I fugure that with the added L6 L7 L8 it gives more room for girls to be part of the JO program...
My apologies if this thread is in the wrong location - I wanted to post it in archived competitions but the only thread that shows up for me there is the 2012 Olympics.
I know this is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone knew whose floor routine was set to "Money" on day 1 of the women's...
What are your favorite routines, like ever. Just for fun.
I'm really in love with Olga Mostepanova's 1984 beam routine. I wish she would have gone to the Olympics.
My DD competedin a meet this past weekend and the bars were very crooked and unsquare. Does this affect her scores? She is the smallest on the team and they just cannot seem to get the setting so that it is not crooked. The setting for the big kids seem to be fine, they just cannot get them...
I was wondering if there is a deduction for moving your front foot in the ending pose of the USAG level 4 floor routine. I thought I read somewhere that you can't move your front foot. I might be wrong, though. My coaches picked my ending pose:( and it requires me to slide my front foot back to...
Hey,
I've tried searching around and maybe I'm just blind. But I'm having trouble finding the link to the page with the 2013 compulsory skills??
Any help would be great! Thanks!!
I'm confused. My 8 yo DD is finishing up her season competing as AAU3. (next year the gym is swapping to all USAG.)
At all of the competitions all of the teams have had girls on bar do a squat on before their dismount. There is one team that none of the girls are doing the squat on though...
I am the only level 8 at my gym and I am making up my beam routine. I have a good coach be she is not as experienced with optionals and I just need some advice on choreography. I do:
Pike mount
to tuck stand
full turn
step 1/2 turn
switch leap
3/4 straight jump
bhs, bwo
pose
hurdle cartwheel...
Level 3 Beam - it says mount is "leg swing to cross sit." Does that mean it's like the current Level 5/6 mount? Not the current Level 4 mount? I hate the current Level 4 mount and would be elated if I no longer have to teach it.
"Cross handstand with legs in split position" - pretty self...
In my teammate's floor routine she has one arm up by her head and one straight out in front of her and her legs are sort of in a lunge but all of her weight is on her back foot and she twists her hands twice and on the second time she bends her back knee (sorry for the complicated explanation...
