Boredom has already set in for my daughter having to practice her level 7 bar routine over and over and over again, and her first meet is 2 months away. She can already do her level 8 bar routine but will be competing 7 this year. She told me last night she is bored and wants to move on to...
In the beginning when you have to swing your dominant leg over the beam and it has to be straight mine is always bent how do I get my leg straight on those and on leg cuts.
First of all I have never competed before. I am in xcel gold, but because I have never competed before, I have to compete one meet as a silver and score out (31 or higher which is like an average of solid 8's).
My coach said I have to have two circling skills on the low bar. Every since I got...
My DD always spends some time before meets studying YouTube videos of girls scoring high on her routines. Does anyone know of any videos out there yet of gymnasts doing a great job on the new routines? Does USAG have anything? I'm not finding much... My DD is new level 3. Thanks for any...
I'm just wondering where everyone is on the new routines. I have a DD doing level 3 and another DD doing 4 and neither one has been taught their routines yet. Our competition season starts mid October. I'm starting to get a little freaked out. School is starting in a couple of weeks and they...
My DD is in a very large group and doesn't get help like she needs. She only goes 1 day a week and can't get the routine down. They only practice beam about 20 minutes.
My daughter has been put into IDP 2 (was in National 2). She is competing in just over a week and only just started learning her new routine last night. She is 8 and does pick things up ok but this is a whole new level with lots of new element that she has not done before.
so if anyone knows of...
I have seen a few threads mention that a deduction can be taken for an optional routine not being "up to level". What exactly does this mean, and what is the standard against which it taken? Other girls at that particular meet? There is so much discussion of the optional requirements (so many...
So i have all of my xcel gold skills, but my coach said that I have to get a 31 or higher AA score at an xcel silver meet. The xcel silver vault is a handstand flat back on the table with a mat, and the xcel gold vault is a front handspring. On beam, my coach said that I might not be able to...
My daughter and two other gymnasts in her level at our gym are lefties in their routines (all are righties as far as their dominant hand is concerned). We've been doing some group privates to work on the new routines. This has helped the girls a lot since the coach is spending time on doing it...

So, I saw a lot of parents here saying their kids have started working on the new floor routines. Not us. We had a short break the first week of July, then the second week of July summer schedule started. We come in, our regular coach isn't there, the owner tells me our coach went to learn the...
Curious how gyms/gymnasts across the country are teaching/learning the NEW routines...Learning all at once, learning sections at a time, with music/without music, watched video of routines? How is the teaching style working for your gymnast?
Can someone please give me a few examples of routines for each event and each level? I am from Canada so if you could use the canadian rules that would be great, but the usag rules are good too! I have posted a link for the canadian rules below:

I finally got to see some of the new Level 3 floor routine today. They started working on them a couple of weeks ago, but my DD was out that whole week for camp, then her gym was closed all last week for the 4th. I like the routine. It has some really pretty elements. I haven't heard the...
I just want to be certain I'm understanding this correctly...
Level 6 floor length is 1:15. level 7 (and all higher levels) is 1:30. But if a gymnast does a 1:30 floor routine in Level 6, she will only lose .10 for being overtime, correct?
Assuming the above is correct, does anyone else think...
Can you do say a BWO/BHS series and then a RO/BT dismount in a level 6 or 7 beam routine? Then for the jumps a split leap split/ jump combo or is that too many "b" elements? All in the same routine. Just wondering not saying that is the plan or anything DD was just asking.
