My daughter is competing level 7 this season. She has a very standard bar routine - kip, clear hip, squat on, giant-giant, fly away. When she comes out of her clear hip, she is at horizontal at best (she is not able to come close to a handstand). Just wondering what the deductions would be in...
Pink and Fluffy came home excited the other day saying she had learned a new move on bars. I smiled and said lovely dear but don't have a scooby what it is.
She says its a Mo (Moe ?) anyone know ? Got a youtube link so I know what it looks like ?
Thanks
One of my level 4s is terrified of jumping o the high bar and catching. She's done:
1. Squat on jump touch (she'll jump and touch no matter how far/close the bars are)
2. Squat on, stand up, reach to hollow stand holding high bar
3. Jump from block and catch the bar.
Etc...
She's says she is...
I have a gymnast who is totally afraid of going over the bar. I have tried everything. She just won't do it. I strongly believe in not forcing her because I know it can turn her off from ALL gymnastics but I am running out of things to have her do on bars. She cannot progress any more without a...
Well, got my first gymnastics injury yesterday! I was on the high bar with a pit on one side and mats on the other, I was facing the pit. I simply did a kip cast and swung forward and on the back swing my grips just slipped off the bar. There was no way I could hold on! So as I was falling I...
So dd's bar routine will be the following:
kip
cast
pirouette
clear hip (she likely will not make it to handstand)
kip
cast
squat on
jump to high bar
kip
cast handstand
giant
giant
layout flyaway
She insists she doesn't have a routine, that she can't do the pirouette to hand stand or the...
What do you see here that is wrong....I know there is plenty! I am just trying to figure out what the judge did not like! Normally she gets between a 9.3 to a 9.6
They smacked her with a 8.9! She was really PO ed .....me too!
Our gym is small. We have only one pit which is about 15 x25
There is entry for vaulting on the length of the pit, and the floor entry has the short width of the pit.
We are trying to figure out if a trainer bar can be placed on the edge of the pit. I am guessing GMR double L trainer would...
Can anybody help me find bar deductions for level 4? I'm having a hard time finding anything. DD has a pretty good kip, does straight arm most of the time, although her feet flex in the beginning of her glide and her legs can bend a little bit. Her squat on troubles me (of course I tell her it...
Can someone please tell me what the requirements for a new level 5 bar routine. I am hearing conflicting info. Is a baby giant a requirement? What about kip to high bar, tap swing, counter swing, tap swing flyaway?
Our club is making our level 5 girls do baby giants, another coach from another...
Just had to share that our new soft rails...pistons...spin and snap locks...bar steps...and tensioners came in yesterday! Our old set of unevens is like new again. Getting another brand new set of unevens in a week or two!
DD had one more level 4 skill to get, the kip to the high bar, and tonight she got it! I'm so happy for her and she was excited. Of course I didn't see it as (if you caught my previous thread), I'm not allowed to watch! But I do look forward to seeing her new routines at meets with my camera...
Thought you all might like to see the new Parallel Bar Station I created/designed at our gym... Sunken Parallel Bars and an In-Ground Parallel Blocks Station - As far as I am aware, first of its kind in the world!
A L4 of mine who has all of her bar skills, recently is terrified of jumping to the high bar. (after a stand in coach dident catch her when she clearly dident have the time to catch the bar (she had her shoulders way to far over in her squat on) every time she comes to my bar to practice...
I coach level 3's in Colorado and we are about to start meet season next week.
I'm excited to see what teams are choosing from all the bar options.
What are you guys having your current level 3 gymnasts compete?
Kip or Glide?
Basket swing or stride circle?
Do you have any strong opinion on...
First of all I have never competed before. I am in xcel gold, but because I have never competed before, I have to compete one meet as a silver and score out (31 or higher which is like an average of solid 8's).
My coach said I have to have two circling skills on the low bar. Every since I got...
I heard that they changed the release move requirements to be 1 high bar and 1 transitional bar release. So the standard bail/Chinese sit up doesn't cut it. Has anyone heard about this?
I heard that USAG is changing the uneven bars to ones with more "bounce". They are definitely harder to hit handstands. Anyway, I heard that change was THIS season. Someone else said it was next. Does anyone know for sure?
I would appreciate a little background on UB release moves. Don't care how to do them or train for them (that's the coach's role), but I found myself going to You Tube when DD told me she figured out her shootover last practice. I know she's also been working on a straddle back. What I was...
