I am not a choreographer, but will be doing some of the routines for our new level 6s. Is it ok to look at routines with the same music to get ideas or is that against the rules? Specifically looking for Sweet Georgia Brown.
I have a CD of a piece called Breakout but its old and static-y and I'd like to get a new one but I don't remember where I got it. Its a kind of Irish dance style. Any ideas?
Does anyone have a video of a lefty doing a decent level four floor routine? My DD asked to watch one before competing this Sunday but the USAG video is a righty and she'd prefer to watch a lefty. I'd much appreciate it if someone has a video they don't mind sharing. Feel free to reply here...
I have a front handspring to two feet and a stepout and I have almost a FHS stepout FHS. On the trampoline or airtrack I can easily do bounders.
I have never tried a front handspring on vault. Is a bounder on tramp a lot different?
How long does this usually take to get a decent vault FH?
I was reading the text yesterday and it seemed to indicate that the legs should be straddled at a down angle (like a straight jump with legs apart), but then later it seemed to indicate it should be a straddle pike (with knees turned up). Can anyone clarify?
Thank you!
Hi Everyone. I use Audacity for many other things and love it, but find it a bit tedious and imprecise when it comes to editing out sections of music. Perhaps I just need to buckle down and work with it some more. However, I thought I would ask you all who have edited floor music before-...
How big is the difference between tumbling on the tumbl trak or airtrack compared to spring floor?
I can do Round Offs, Back Handsprings, Back Tucks, Layouts, Whip Backs, Running Front Tuck, and Working on my Fulls but just tumbled on air track, because thats how my rec tumbling class trains...
I know it's only level 3, and it doesn't matter in the long run, but I'm just curious.
A week ago DD had a meet and scored 9.5 on this floor routine:
Then this weekend she had States, and got 8.6:
I know she was nervous, because it's States. And she was upset, because they started on beam...
I am not at a very high level yet and have a question about tumbling skills.
I will list all of the skills I am familiar with and will sort in from diffiiculty low to high!
Forward tumbling skills:
Front walkover
Front handspring
Flyspring
Front Tuck
Front Pike
Front Layout
(is there a "front...
My dd has been practicing her Floor Routine for her Grades next month and she said her floor music was Circus type music that reminds her of clowns juggling.
Has anyone come across this type of music begore and have any idea what it might be called?
DD selected floor music from a list her coaches recommended. So excited for her as we are starting her choreography over spring break, which gives her about 9 months to perfect it before she competes it! My question is do you share selections with friends from other gyms that are usually in...
What are the rules for floor music? I know it has to be certain lengths depending on level, but could I choose any music? I have not heard any music I like with the 'pre packaged ' stuff and I am wondering if I can take plain old Karaoke music and have it trimmed down. I know it cant have voice...
What causes the back layout to burn out (slow down and almost stop rotation) over the top when doing RO backhandspring layout on floor. I know the answer to a lot of these post but I really love hearing other coaching tips and info just in case I need to look for other stuff.
i'm trying to find a new floor music this upcoming season for optionals.. any suggestions are appreciated! :) and if you could provide a link with it, it would be very helpful but you don't have to.
I just found out that my gymnast has been getting exhausted shortly after starting floor each practice, and sometimes on pommel or vault for a few weeks now. He's able to complete the practice, but his endurance is just not the same. Outside of the gym, he has a normal energy level, and he's...
I was looking at some floor music on a site called energym.com but when I looked at the prices I saw some floor music that was 1:20 Long and cost $52.00. Is floor music really that expensive
What is the deduction for being ahead of music? My daughter had to pause for a bit for music to catch up because she went to quickly. She still did great after performing her first floor routine after getting off her back brace for stress fracture. She did not even know she was competing floor.
Our gym doesn't have spring floor. We just have regular gymnastics mats (that can fold). I have a meet tomorrow and they have a spring floor. Is it going to be hard to adjust? I don't compete where we have levels. It's just a fun meet. I just started a few months ago, and I'm not really advanced...
