Can anyone provide any insight into how a T&T meet is structured? DD's coach said it isn't like artistic where you have a four hour slot and then you're done but that it can be an all day affair. If it's any help, DD will probably compete 6 or 7 on Tramp and DM, and 6 on Tumbling as an 11 year...
Anyone been to either of these meets?
Which one is bigger that has more gymnasts participate?
We want to do go to one out of these two meets and not sure which one would be best. I'm assuming FL one will be more expensive if everyone decides to visit Disney or Universal.
Any input on any...
so dd has been called puddles from the owner/coach since she started team and she's only 9. her hands and feet are a sweaty mess - she has been known to leave puddles behind on mats from her feet and hands. she uses a ton of chalk. at her mobility meet in august she slipped on the vault...
Coaches, parents, gymnasts: if you could pick 1 meet, that is well run, fun, great competition, for all WAG levels 6 through to 10 what would it be? Don't factor in cost/travel time etc. Just what are the best overall meets you have attended. And Go
We have a group of girls going down to the Cincinnati meet in January. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some fun things in the area.
The meet is being held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Centre and the group will stay at one of the hotels in the area.
Our club always does one or...
Our booster club hosts one or two meets each year and it is getting hard to come up with fresh, new ideas for coaches gifts. We don't have a budget yet, so at this point my committee is looking for any and all ideas.
Coaches, do most meets that you attend give coaches gifts? Tell some of your...
If you are a judge or work providing judges food at meets, what do you provide for them? The few people that handled this area for meets we host are no longer with the gym and I'm helping take over that area.
Are there any requirements of what must be provided? (E.g. Vegetarian options, food...
If anyone would like to participate in a Chalkbucket meet up before trials on Friday July 8th in San Jose please post in this thread.
How many will you be, and will you be bringing children?
The location is booked. We have the back terrace of the Poor House bistro, cajun food. Good music and...
I very much need to contact My Meet Scores.
I have carefully protected my child's privacy by having her compete under her legal name while she is known in the world by a nickname (call name).
Unfortunately I just noticed that a former gym meet somehow inserted her nickname into her legal name...
We just returned from Missoula montana. The small town atmosphere was great - it seemed the entire town knew about the event and the local news covered it.
One thing I think they should have done was just make the meet free for all the locals. This would have helped fill the (very large)...
I am incredibly proud of my 9 year old L2 daughter. This weekend she had her first meet where she hit all of her skills in her routines with no falls or major errors. She finally showed her coaches that she can do everything in a meet that she can do in a practice which is huge as we are...
My DD (6yo) has her first gymnastics "meet" (just an in-house mini meet).
We were told the girls would be judged, but not scored -- and would receive one of 3 ribbon colors (I'm guess the color is some indication of how well they did).
Do I need to prep my daughter at all about this ribbon...
Since I kind of feel like I was dared... ;)
Yes, this is a pretty silly question, but I'll go for it anyway.
Son is competing L4 meet tomorrow. Our L4's only compete in local, informal meets, so rules are also much more informal. Son has a bad rip on his hand right now that we have wrapped...
Can anyone tell me how long the semi finals should be?
Going to both sessions and trying to plan ahead whether we should just try and find somewhere to eat around the convention center or go ahead back to our hotel (15 minutes away).
I've tried to googlemap some places to eat within walking...
My L8 DD has states this Friday. She has some tight muscles and tweaks, and with school and gym pressures she is definitely feeling stressed. Massages help her a lot. Any opinions on what would be too close in timing to Friday for her to get a massage? Do you think it doesn't matter when?
real nice feel good story about a young woman, a swimmer, who had somewhat of an unusual path to a possible spot on the U.S. Olympic Team. The hard work and dedication seemed to parallel a gymnast seeking the same.

Alrighty ;)
D had a decent meet last night. He did 3 events. Started on Pbars..not his best 10.8. Had a really interesting/nasty fall, but it was funny at the same time. His next event was floor. Beautiful! Great routine 13.2 and 5th place!! Finally was pommel. Again, way better and...
