Does anyone know if USAG has guidelines/suggestions for what prep opt (first year, or whatever your state calls the beginner prep opt level) for how many hours a week girls should be working out/practicing? I am just curious what all the prep opt girls/parents of etc. in this forum are...
What is the difference between ymca and usag gymnastics? I'm not sure I want to work at a y, but the opportunity is there. Can y gymnasts compete at usag meets, and even qualify for states, regionals, etc.?
I've always been under the impression that y gymnastics is generally a lower level...
Has anyone heard anything about level changes? One of the coaches (level 4) and team moms (daughters at level 9 and level 6) was showing some of us information on the level changes that have apparently already been approved to start in 2013.
Looks like level 4 will be more like level 5--with...
I just had a meet yesterday and my bar routine was great up to my leg cut. My leg cut is horrible. My legs a severly bent and I just barely get my foot over the bar and it normally hits the bar slightly anyway. Does anyone have any tips, drill, conditioning, for leg cuts? I really need help!
I believe you need to buy the USAG book to get the pictures and all, but if you search the web, you should be able to find a chart that lists the major elements. If the gym expects you to teach them, I would expect them to provide the book for you to use.
A friend sent me this and I thought it was interesting. Would love to hear thoughts on the proposed (perhaps already voted on and decided?) changes to the USAG JO program.

Different coaches have told my daughter different things regarding training grips/palm grips. Are gymnasts allowed to compete with them at USAG meets?
Thank you for the information.
Does anyone know the name of the USAG gymnastic book with al the compulsory routines, and tells you the requirements. A gym usually recieves this when they are competitive.

My boyfriend seems to think that it is very highly unlikely that I would be able to the the media relations coordinator at USAG after college. I know that you just don't walk into the job of your dreams but I don't think that it is not possible, I wouldn't just expect to get that job first but...

In my thread about my daughter's level, there were a number of people questioning some of the skills in her routine. I know that being in Canada, we have different criteria for each level, but was wondering what is allowed in the US. Does anyone know of a simple breakdown...
