I was reading on the usa gymnastics web site that for the elite compulsary routines that there is a .5 deduction for straddling up on cast handstands and also for straddling up on front giants. Why don't they want to see this. I have seen elites like Bridget Sloan do this. And of course this...
I feel like an idiot having to ask this question, but if I don't, it will go unanswered so I guess I'll take that risk.
I am not a USAG member, nor am I safety certified. While I know these certifications/memberships are somewhat easy to come by, especially considering the regulations in other...
Hello all,
I'm preparing to take my Level 7/8 women's gymnastics judging exam and was wondering if anyone would want to help me out by linking to or uploading videos of your gymmie (or yourself) competing Level 7 or 8 routines in the USAG system.
Ideally, the score would be hidden or behind...
Some of our team want to do more competitions so we're trying to do some USAG competitions. We took a look at the rules for the prep opp gold and platinum and realized I need to at least compete level 5 with 31.00 or more overall to compete those prep opp levels so right now I'm learning all the...
Here I go with another question. Sorry. Okay, they are supposed to keep their cards on them at meets. (so the HC said). My question is..when do they actually LOOK at it to confirm she is a member? I ask this because Kadee is 5..lol. My dd is very mature and responsible for 5 but i do worry about...

I meant to ask my daughter's coaches yesterday but forgot. Can anyone tell me what the mobility scores are for USAG levels 8, 9 and 10? Also, how does one qualify for states, regionals and nationals for L9 and L10? Thanks!
Lots of people have been asking about how old their dd has to be to compete various levels and does their age on the day of the meet count or their age on the day of the state meet count for this. So I thought I would copy across the info from USAG to make things clear.
There are minimum ages...
I had my first meet last weekend :) It was fun, but kinda badly run and the equipment sucked. The bars were so low I hit my feet jumping to the high bar, the vault measuring tape only extended to 65 ft, and the beam was caved in
Scores
Vault: 8.05 6th
Bars: 8.5 3rd  Well...
I have come across a couple of references to DVDs that list things like full compulsory routines for all the levels and also a "dance for gymnasts" type DVD. But when I go to the USAG website, I can't find anything to buy.
Am I just hallucinating about the existence of these items?? If not...
My DD had her first and last USAG level 5 meet last weekend. I'm very proud of her she got 1st AA. Just 2 weeks left till her first Level 6 meet!
YouTube - Kyrie, 7, Level 5 competition
I want to find the music I used to use when I competed! It was the music that was used directly before the switch to the current music. Just wondering if anyone knew where I could find it. I found one video on youtube that had the old level 5 routines with the music, but I can't find the level 6...
I know there were a small group that has done both USAG & USAIGC at the same time.
Jess was going to do both last year, but we decided to have her focus on her first year in USAG. This year there was no getting around it. She is VERY excited and got her beam and floor routines for silver...
I wanted to reply to a post about the USAG taking on "competitive cheer". I am not a member nor a gymnastics community person. I am someone with great insight into the "competitive cheer" side of this issue. I just wanted to bring understanding to the gymnastics people so they see the big...
I'm wondering whether you can the tests for judging even

If so, how long does it take to process it?
(the USAG website says the membership isn't valid till your number appears online or something like that which should happen after they are...

Anyway, I overheard some new mom's last night talking about level 3. One of them then asked me if I knew anything about it (and of course, I didn't, i am WAAAY out of the loop these days:rolleyes:)
