Okay so I am a level 9 and we have to look up cool dance moves and stuff to put in our beam routines. I have no clue what to do and can't really find anything cool. I am looking for stuff like Casey Jo Magee's turtle spin if you are confused about what kind of stuff I am looking for. If you have...
My daughter is learning level 6. She has a very bad fear of beam. Her coaches have a high beam or nothing attitude. I feel she would be betterto learn on a lower beam and build confidence in her skills and get higher the longer she works on these skills. She can already do her bwo and the...
Has anybody heard about any possible changes for next year in level 7 bars and beam. My DD is hoping to make the jump to L7 next year and we were wondering if everything was going to stay the same.
I can do my Swich leap on the floor but i can not do it on the beam as i need a lot of power and my front leg is lower.

Okay so I just got my back walkover on the high beam. I am comfortable with it now, so I was thinking maybe I should start working back handsprings. But as of now, I would NEVER try a back handspring on the high beam. If I missed my hands I would kill myself! Of course I'm going to practice...
Hi!
I am a level 8 gymnast training level 9, and I need some help with FORWARD flight series:) I am afraid to back tumble so forward tumbling is what I do best. I was thinking side aerial, side aerial but I don't know if you can do this in 9. Also, what about front tucks? I am working on them...
My 4 year old daughter has recently moved to high beam to do her press handstands. She can do them from standing position on the low beam. When the coach moved her to high beam last week, my daughter's prefence was to start them from a seated position like she does on the floor. The coach had...
My daughter is doing beautifully this year. She barely gets a 9.00 on beam and it frustrates her. I am not complaining. her AA scores are great this year, she is just not one of those 9.8 gymnasts. I realize deductions add up, but what is she getting deducted for in her beam routine? She...
Hello all, Liv's been wanting to making a new video for a while. She wanted to make a bars video showing her level 5 low bar routine. She is very proud to have the kip connected to FHC but changed her mind and decided she wanted a beam video (her least favorite event). I was not going to try to...
I'm a bit confused. I've seen lots of level 9 beam routines on YouTube, but the level 9 gymnast on our team doesn't seem to fit them. She never scores well on beam and i was wondering if she was meeting the requirements. I know it seems like none of my business, but the level 9 beam routine that...
Just wondering if anyone has drills to teach the front aerial to rear support on the beam? Our Gymnast can land one on the floor. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Everyone,
I'm a long time lurker, but now I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. My ds (age 6) has only been in gymnastics for about a year. The coaches want to move her up to pre-team ,she is currently in girls rec 4 for four hours a week. Recently she had a bad fall off...
We have had many opinions on this in the gym--- how do you, as a gymnast or coach, have your gymnasts place their hands on their back handsprings on beam? I'm not a fan of hands on top of each other, or just thumbs on the beam. Our head coach thinks if your LEFT foot is in front (and landing...
I've seen a lot of Elites who do some strength move or press to handstand on beam. I'm noticing it more at Levels 9-10. Is this something we should think about adding to beam routine at Level 9?
My personal feeling is that judges want to see gymnasts do some strength move and seem to reward...
Hi I am new. I coach L3,4, and 5. There has been a dispute with the L5 beam dismount. I was informed the dismount was changed to the L6 dismount, then once we competed we were told that the dismount had never changed. Everyone seems to have a different answer, and many gyms are competing the L6...
Hi, at the moment I am learning front walkovers on beam, I can basically do them on the high beam but I'm still getting the right technique. I'm also learning round offs. I want to start learning front handsprings soon after I finish learning round offs and front walkovers. When I learn front...
My daughter is having a difficult time doing the fly-away. In fact, it kept her from advancing to level 8 last season. Her coach wants to try something new as she is just having a mental block letting go and flipping. She will swing her legs on the high bar in a straddle, let go, bounce on the...
