Just curious....now that it seems most gyms have made team level assignments and starting teaching routines, what is going to be the reality of the New Levels 5 and 6? Is your gym doing one or the other...or both?
Our gym held a move up meet to score out of new L5. Everyone who would have...
I'm looking for y'all's conditioning lists for your pre-team to old L6/new L5 girls. In addition to in-gym conditioning, do you set home conditioning for your kids? If so, what do you assign? I'm really struggling with what exercises and what reps/sets are appropriate for the varying levels.
If...
Is there anyway to do the new level 6 bars without a free-hip to glide on low bar.
Bars is a weak event for me, especially low bar as I tend to hit my feet.
I plan on doing an uprise for my 'B'
I was talking with my coach and she said you have to have two 'air circling moves' so free hip or...
Was talking with the program director this AM about fall schedules (which we still don't have yet, yikes!) and asked about the level 5/level 6 group he's been mostly in this summer. He said, "oh, level 6. The level 6s will probably be practicing Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday. Level 6 gets...
Can someone please give me a few examples of routines for each event and each level? I am from Canada so if you could use the canadian rules that would be great, but the usag rules are good too! I have posted a link for the canadian rules below:

I just want to be certain I'm understanding this correctly...
Level 6 floor length is 1:15. level 7 (and all higher levels) is 1:30. But if a gymnast does a 1:30 floor routine in Level 6, she will only lose .10 for being overtime, correct?
Assuming the above is correct, does anyone else think...
Ok I have read all threads pertaining to new level 6 and yet I am still confused. On bars will most new level 6s have cast handstands and giants and compete them or not? I have read new 6 a is a little easier than old 7 but I can't figure out in what way. Anyone who can help me understand I...
Is this correct? It is the way I read the text but want to double check.
Bars - the mount and dismount can count towards total number of A's and B's.
Beam - the mount and dismount do not count for A's and B's because the have to start and finish on beam to count.
I'm just curious for more information on the level 6 beam and floor requirements.
For beam, what are the requirements in general, as well as what are the 'skills' you can do? Such as, what are the options other than back walkovers and back handsprings?
For Floor, just what are the requirements...
Hi all,
I know this has been talked about, but did anyone find anywhere in the USAG literature where it says that there will be no mobility score for the new 6? I.e, that they can go right to 7 after scoring out of the new 5 if they have the skill necessary for 7? I've looked and looked and I...
If I am reading it right, it looks like the new Level 6 is not required. Looks like you can skip straight from current Level 6 to Level 7 with no required mobility score.....am I reading that right? If I am, is that level always going to be that way.....there if they need it, but not required...
Since level 6 can stay at the "new" 6 or go to level 7? My daughters gym says they will decide based on skills. Of course my daughter would rather go to 7 but I wonder if she'd be better to stay at the new 6. She didn't have a great year (she skipped Level 5) It wasn't awful but she wasn't a...
Posting for a friend - what is the deduction on L6 beam if you basically do the L5 dismount (missing that extra turn) but then get back up and complete it correctly?
I have several gymnasts trying to score out of current Level 6 this weekend. One is struggling with some mental stuff on beam. Just to reassure everyone, I would NOT move this girl up to Optional without the appropriate skills on EVERY event, however, step one of having the opportunity to even...
Ok, so I know that the details are still being figured out, but I just can't get my brain around this new optional level 6 for next year. I looked at some of the material USAG has put out and it seems like the are looking for 5 A skills and 1 B skill for the new level 6. Based on my little...
