Do most optional gymnast change their music and floor choreograph every year even if they are repeating level 7 or 8. Is it common to carry the same song and choreograph into the next season. Just wondering how that works.
It seems to me that the compulsory routines are better suited to smaller, younger girls. That the routines were designed for smaller, younger girls.
I've noticed at meets, included state finals, that the older girls (11+) score lower than younger girls, and the top scores in those age groups...
The past 2 times I tried to make a montage, Windows movie maker has not been cooperating....so here is just the plain old video. I also missed the beginning of her mount. This is LM's Bronze level routine for USAIGC from last weekend's meet. Thanks for peeking!

Okay, there's this one gymnast at my local gym that constantly keeps telling me that I'm so good for a L3 that I should be a L5. Could someone tell me what the L5 bar and beam routine consist of? Thanks! (I was just curious to know if I would be able to if my gym allowed it ... or if I wasn't a...
Hello!
I wanted to make an interesting note. I didn't always love the grace, and dancey stuff in the routines, a lot of times I thought it was boring, but it has grown on me now. I was thinking about the dance in the compulsery routines, and wondering how much dance stuff they will put in the...
DD is just loving the L5 bar routine! She came out of practice on Weds night saying she did the whole thing by herself without any help from the coach. Last night I went early to pick her up because she wasn't feeling well after school and I figured "just in case" I should get there early. I saw...
When do the compulsory routines change???
I asked one of the asst. coaches on Tuesday, and they were'nt sure. I told her that I'd find out and tell her on Thursday. Im kinda worried......I REALLY WANT TO COMPETE THE LEVEL 6 ROUTINE NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!! AHHH! Any answers will be GREATLY...
Dd had her 3rd meet yesterday and I was a little disappointed. She scored in the low 7's on bars and beam.Fell twice on both events.:(
I can understand the barscore and I know she also fell twice on beam but everything else looked pretty good to me.They lowered her SV to a 9.8.Fell on backseries...
Hi, everyone! I'm working on a bar routing for a Level 7 gymnast, but it seems like something's missing on the high bar. Can anyone tell me if this routine fulfills all the requirements and what the start value is? Also, does the new Code Of Points have the values of each skill listed in it...
I took some clips of Liv at practice doing her level 4 routines. It is one of her first times doing the floor and beam routines.
On floor she hasn't really been taught the last part of the routine, especially the part on the floor.
On bars she has her fhc and shoot thru but she was not with...
My six year old just started gymnastics this year, and joined the L2 team just this month. She's learned the L2 floor routine (AAU? I think) w/out a problem, but she's not in synch w/ the music. Right before her first meet, the coach did work w/ them, but one practice just wasn't enough. She...
Brand new to the forum, so I thought I'd dive right in.
My 11-year old joined his first competitive gymnastics group last summer. Last weekend he attended the third meet of his life. We came away with that wonderful feeling of a job well done, but being new as we are, we also came away with...
One of my L6 boys just learned his giants, which he can do for bonus in his routine. However, we're running into issues in plugging them in. When he plugs the giants into his routine (two giants followed by a baby giant and an undershoot), what ends up happenning is that after the two giants...
Just wondering how many events per workout and routines per event? I generally try to go over a key point they all need to hit and then do routines, 3-5x per event.
Generally, HB or SR, FX every day (3d/w), PH and MR split into different events but every day, V 1-2x per week and PB 2-3x per...
Do any of you have routines you are working on? I have made myself a beam routine, not to any specific level just to my own skills. There's nothing fancy in it LOL but this is what it looks like:
straddle- cross support mount. Candlestick. Stand, step, leg swing-pivot (don't know if it has...
Hey all,
In the past month I've returned to gym, and have been working on individual skills.
Brief history: 10 Years ago - Started rec gym > school gym > comp gym > quit > coached > cheerlead’ed > coached & cheered > and now I'm here.
I've got a veteran's competition in a weeks time, and...
what are the time minimum and maximum for a level 9 beam routine in USAG? My friend's routine is about 45 seconds including bonus jumps. She has very little dance........Is this fine?
