Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone could give me advise about switch leaps on beam. I need this skill to compete the next level and its not progressing as I hoped it would. I do them on both the low and the high beam with the pad/beam extender and I have no problem with them. Only when I...
I know i already wrote about this but no one replied .
Well I was on beam on yesterday and I was doing my handstands but when i tried to hold my handstand i fell of the beam. And I guess i cant hold it because i have a fear of the beam .
Any advice ?
I guess Dunno, being the vestibular expert, can probably answer this, but anyone else feel free to chime in.
My daughter is all of a sudden afraid of the bwo on high beam. What is odd is that she is not afraid of backhandsprings on high beam (step-out or two foot). So it doesn't seem like a...
Currently, I am working on BHS on beam. When i have a spot, I do great, my coach tells me they are beautiful! But when she won't spot me, I'm a nervous wreck. A stack mats by the beam and im fine. But then when I take them away, Again, I'm a nervous wreck.
My coach tells me I over think it...
I am a level 4. And I am having trouble with my dismount in my beam routine .I do the handstand part but I dont turn to the other side .Help!!! Any advice ????
I am competing level 8 again this year, and having most of my skills on beam at this point I've had some time to mess around with mounts. One mount that I've found pretty interesting/fun is the Silvias (jump to chest stand, 1/1 spin on neck/shoulders), only I jump to chest stand immediately and...
im a level nine gymnast and my coach said i had to do a full twisting for my dismount but my twisting is TERRIBLE!!! i always either land on my head, or put my hands down!! my coach said i need to think layout and i do but its still really bad!! any advice?
I thought I posted this earlier, so if it's a duplicate, just ignore!
What is the "correct" way to teach this skill? I was just wondering because I've seen girls perform it with one hand over the other, and others place their hands side by side. It seems to me that the girls who have one hand...
HELP! JUDGES! COACHES!One arm backhandspring connection on beam (level 9)
Where are the arms suppose to be when connecting a one arm backhandspring to a split jump? After the one arm backhandspring are the arms suppose to finish up then swing around for the jump or do the finish down to go for...
Look at the majority of todays beam routines. Most of the choreography is something like step pose step step pose ect. There isn't much to it. There is no "real" dancing in most beam choreography. Does anybody else notice this or is it just me? Would it be wierd to get up and dance on the beam...
Does anyone know what a front handspring on beam is worth? my guess is that is a "B" or "C" skill but i'm not sure. Also I've herd it counts as a flight skill..... does it?
Im going to be level 9 this up coming season and planning on connecting split jump one arm backhandspring, I have been having trouble with getting my one arm centered on the beam when adding in the split jump. I have no problem just doing the one arm backhandspring by itself but connecting it is...
I'm having trouble with the level 6 beam dismount. I can do the second half (side handstand, twist off) but I can't seem to hold the regular handstand for two seconds and than connect it to the second half. Whenever I do, I can't hold the side handstand, long enough, or fall the other way then...
i'm going to be a level 8 next year and i was wondering what series are possible for a level 8. Except here's the catch, i have had many injuries recently and cannot learn/do backhandspring(s) and i therefore cannot do and bhsp bhsp series or anything including bhsp's or backwalkovers. What...
Hi All,
My girls are currently working on standing back tucks on beam. One of the girls is completely on line but the only thing is she's missing a slight bit of rotation that I have to give her a little lift for, other than that it'd be perfect! Does anyone have any tips or advice for standing...
My coach has all of us level 8's do two acro skills in our beam routine (usually bhs and ro) and has us put one in a series. I've been told that there is a small deduction if your only have acro/flight in the backwards direction and not in the front/side way. Is this true? If I only had a back...
Ok today I put a mat over the low beam because I can't ever get my hands on the beam for the backwalkover! Any tips? Is it okay to practice backwalkovers on the floor with my hands together?? My backwalkover on the floor is really straight I think my only problem on the beam is getting my hands...
Hi!
Question about Level 8 beam - dd is working on making her series connected to her dismount. She would do BHS, BHS, BLO (or back tuck) - what do you see as the advantages to this rather than competing bhs, bhs and then having a RO, BLO or back tuck dismount? If you have competed it like...
