Hello everyone! I'm not quite sure if I have this in the right category, but I am a gymnast. The other week I was doing back handsprings on beam, and my wrist started to hurt. This actually happens a lot on beam for me so I just Iced and stretched and continued on. Well, fast forward to the next...
Hey guys! I just wanted to know if any other gym does this. My coach absolutely refuses to spot us on beam. I am not quite sure of their reasoning because they will spot every where else. JUST no beam. They will however let us get a big folding incline and some panel pats under the beam and try...
Can someone give me an idea on what this might score in a meet? I know there are a few places where she could kick (lever) higher and with an straighter leg. Her leaps and jump can be higher.
I'm just curious. This looks so much better then last year (repeating L4) and just wanted a...
Can someone tell me the added requirements for beam when going from L6 to L7?
I know a connection and flight, but are there also needed more A or B skills? or could someone compete a minimal L6 routine with just adding the connection and flight, and no extra skills?
Thanks!
DD had a slip of hands on high beam a couple of months ago and has lost her backhandspring. She does it fine on low beam, a little higher crank beam, and can not take it higher. Neither of her coaches will spot her at all on beam, yet there are other kids that do get spotted from time to time...
my dd had her first meet today (5 y/o level 2). She saluted, walked to the beam and touched it, got confused on what side to start on and walked to the other side, coach corrected her and directed her to the correct side.
Just curious if the judges deduct for this and how much?
Lol..definitely...
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had drills or stretches etc to help straighten out my DDs back leg on her beam split jump. She's lvl 5 and seems to always have a bent back leg. The coaches tell her to just straighten it but she can't.
She's a very strong, powerhouse gymnast, but not...
My now 10 yo DD competed level 4 last year and was going to compete level 6 this year (no 5 at her gym). Beam was always her weakest event. However, this year, she is totally unable to move her skills forward on beam and is even going backwards. She now has her CHS and just got her giant on...
hi - new to this community. i found it while researching beam ideas for my level 6 gymnast. at her gym they create their own beam routines and while she knows which skills she wants to do and has some filler, she's not really sure how to put it all together and she needs some hand movements...
hi!
Some girls on our level 5 team will be competing a back handspring on beam and some will do a back walkover. Do you get extra points for doing a Back handspring?
We are searching for a confident and experienced optional beam and floor coach for our USAG Level 7-10 teams. Candidates should have the ability to successfully coach girls as individuals as well as create highly competitive united teams. Salaried full time position available.

DD is training 8. HC had her get the Code of points and pick her skills for routines. She said her beam has these elements is she missing anything? Also will there be deductions for all acro being connected to dismount? I think it goes like this. Mount, full turn, switch leap, wolf or cat jump...
Hi I'm thinking of purchasing the Ikea balance bench for my 3.5 year old. She is currently trying to climb on window ledges pretending they are the beam.... think if I hit her this she can practice safely, it's very affordable does anyone have one?
We are also thinking of getting her a...
Hello All,
We are looking to upgrade our balance beam at home without breaking the bank on a USAG competition AAI beam.
The Beam Store (Link Removed) has one and it states that the beam is essentially a replica of competition standards (e.g. suede, padding, shape, etc.)
Does anyone have...
I've had BT on beam consistently for quite some time now. About a week ago, I decided it would be an AWESOME idea to land the BT with my left ankle rolled inward, resulting in a severe sprain and smallish fracture.
Here's the dilemma: I am so afraid to do it ever again. I am nearly 19 years...
